Pretty messed up, but seems to be a tale as old of time: business owners do shady things with company funds and employees get screwed.

In eastern Europe? Aren't they all mobsters of one type or another?
Lets not go there please... i don't want to have to close the thread because it got political.

Ontopic..
I actually met eddie in person and i also called him out on XS on his 2nd generation full cover blocks for not having stand off's and causing warpage issues on GPU on the ati Radeon 4870.

He later addressed the issues with stand off's and sent people nylon spacers to fix the warpage on full cover blocks.
I used his original first generation GPU full cover gpu block. i think it was on the 480gtx.
He later blamed silver for the nickle flaking.. and caused the entire industry to take 2 steps back banning silver as a anti microbe, when silver is not really reactive. I guess it was so he could push out premixes which nets greatest profit, as its just anti freeze + distilled water.

But he was a easy and good guy to work with, but from what steve says, that didn't last long, or he wore a very thick mask when i knew him.

Seems like he was okay as long as he didn't get too big for his britches. Though that incident mentioned in the video where he threatened a reseller for essentially improving one of his products and then reselling it (the reseller was treating their blocks to prevent nickle flaking) was really obnoxious. Maybe that was a sign of things to come.

It was sidewinders computers if you want to know the retailer.
They went out of business a long time ago.
I remember when this happened, as it blew up on the forums.

They were all blaming the silver being the culprit, when it was poor nickle plating.
Also Chinese distributors were not sending 100% pure silver, or was masking sterling silver as pure silver, which isn't the same thing as 99.999 pure silver.

Sterling silver is an alloy while pure silver is pure silver.

This killed the entire kill coil market which i still use in my system, as i am one of the founding fathers of the original Iandh Kill Coils, which had no problems. I also have a lot saved for future builds, as Iandh and i went though many prototypes before the kill coil actually hit market.

I remember Sidewinder. Think I ordered some fans from them back in the day, though my memory is hazy on that. But yeah all that rings a bell.

they seem to be a privately held company so hard to tell.

im not familiar with how jurisdiction in the eu nations work. so other than tax rules, there arent a whole lot of crimes associated with overpaying the c-suite or failing to responsibly run a company. unless they got paid for doing nothing(not fulfilling their contract), these things are hard to prosecute. it sounds like a lot of it was various execs attempting vanity projects using company funds, so they weren't doing nothing. unless some of the loans were taken out under false declarations and the money funneled to the individuals, that is the biggest charge i can think of.

my question: is edward just a chump or does he not know how to run a business? some of the stuff about trying squeeze money from sidewinder for fixing their product's flaws and the gaslighting of media really calls his character into question. what is the point in continuing to allow all these people to draw a salary?

Name sounds familiar to me. Aren't they the ones that put up sound files for the fans?

I don't remember them doing that, no. But they had some sick Deltas back in the day, and they did list the (extremely high) decibel ratings for all of them.
