Those wait times you listed seem very reasonable to me. Hell even if I wanted to see my primary care physician I doubt he could fit me in within a week, maybe with a telehealth video call.

And I pay just under $1000 a month for family coverage, with most of the cost subsidized by my employer, so the true cost to buy that type of policy independently would be over $2000 a month just in PREMIUMS. Not to mention you then have to pay for all kinds of shit if you actually use it, this is a relatively good plan with a $500 per person deductible an out of pocket maximum of $7k annual for the family or $3500 per person. We’ve maxed out the out of pocket already this year. Freedumb

I just finished another article basically stating that independents didn't feel Harris answered enough specifics on her plan to help the economy, thus they are leaning towards Trump. It's really hard to wrap my head around that sort of fucked up logic. My wife has a childhood friend that is usually a reliable Democrat, but she is voting Trump because illegals are given drivers licenses in her state, and she thinks all of the extra traffic on the roads is composed of illegals interrupting her morning commute. She doesn't answer when asked if she thinks it's just going back to the way it was before covid when people actually had to show up at work.

They were always going to vote for Trump, people just like to legitimize their decisions with logic (even if it's objectively illogical). If it wasn't that, they would have just said "I didn't like her energy" or some other nonsense.

That's what kills me. What in the hell has Trump ever fixed? What has he ever followed through on, other than a Muslim ban and a tax "reform" bill that mostly helped the very wealthy (including himself, if he actually didn't cheat on taxes).

Trump university? Trump steaks? 4000 (and counting) lawsuits? This is a guy who fixes stuff?

Did Trump stop illegal immigration in his first term (since that's apparently such a world-ending problem, you'd think he'd make a priority). And no the dumbass wall was never going to be a miracle fix...they have these newfangled things called "fences" already on large stretches of the border.

Post-COVID inflation did a number on people. So has the bastardized housing market. It's a one two punch that has stolen wealth from millions of workers.

The debate opened with the economy, directed at Harris. She didn't really explain how we got here, and how she'll lead us out of it. Mostly she was left to hold the bag for the Democrat admin she's a "part" of. Even though the VP doesn't really do a damn thing. She's part of "the problem" as people see it. Which is the incumbency. It's a heavy bias of pretending the White House has more power than it does. And not knowing how anything else works either. Such as inflation, or housing.

People, on this issue, need someone capable of breaking it down for them and delivering a plan of action to help... in under 2 minutes.

You don't really have to know how to fix everything, but a good manager knows how to apply the right tools to a problem to get the job done. I think anyone looking for specifics on how to solve every problem is asking too much. I would hope that Harris is being informed and coached by those that truly do understand an issue so she can speak with some authority and knowledge about the problem. I assume being president is not that much different than any manager or problem solver, heck I do that type of thing every day.

Yeah which is why reducing health costs and reducing crushing student debt will help. Social programs to feed kids in schools. Nah Repugnicans, they’ll use that money for drugs instead

Republicans are the default, if a dem isn't perfect well you have to vote for the Republican. Maybe it is status quo bias, IDK.

Keeping interest rates way too low for way too long is a huge part of way housing prices exploded. Trump's solution? Lower interest rates below appropriate levels.

That's some of it, but housing prices in many metro areas have been exploding for years. So some people used the cheap money to buy in what was a cheaper area for themselves, but effectively bidding up prices in those areas (hooray filtering!). The bigger issue is that building never bounced back after the recession, and local laws often limit what and where things can be built, so there has been a backlog of housing needed for the past 30 years in the highly desirable metro areas of the US.

It's why Biden was so successful, he has had competent assistance, something that Trump touted but the presidency was light years over his head.

This is how competent leaders do things, yes.

But it's not a "sexy" enough answer for much of the electorate, unfortunately. And like @Jaskalas said, it needs to be a message delivered quickly and probably at like an 8th grade reading level to make much of a difference.

Yes, not building enough is also a major problem. But the COVID price explosion was not just from lack of supply.
