News Indictments coming for NYC Mayor Eric Adams

NBC just broke the news:

New York City Mayor Eric Adams expected to face federal charges

His administration is reeling from a series of high-level resignations amid at least four federal probes.

New York City Mayor Eric Adams is expected to face federal charges by prosecutors out of the Southern District of New York as soon as tomorrow, two sources familiar with the matter said Wednesday night.

This likely all stems from his campaign’s solicitation of illegal foreign campaign contributions, but I wouldn’t be surprised if their investigation and previous indictments of staffers and colleagues results in additional charges.

Our system rewards criminal behavior. You can buy ego gratification with money. Virtue is it's only reward. And the more money you have the less anybody can hold you accountable for anything. I suppose it might be interesting to institute an automatic death penalty for all political crimes and see if it yields any positive results but I would prefer a political system in which people are asked to pick someone they know who they consider to be a good person and those chosen select from those chosen in this manner until one person is left. Name recognition is a fucking joke.

Nope, NYC has ranked choice voting whose explicit purpose is to make it impossible to dilute someone else’s vote.

For like the 20th time, no one is seeking to imprison Adams without a trial, we are simply using logic and reason to determine that he is highly likely to be guilty. As a note, latest figures show an acquittal rate of 0.4% for federal indictments so if your argument is 'well I guess we can't say because convictions only happen 99.6% of the time!' well... okay.

It's just like with Trump. When he was indicted it was extremely clear he was guilty and lo and behold it turns out we were right.
