Question Having a hard time disconnecting the 24-pin ATX cable from motherboard!

I've been trying to disconnect that 24-pin ATX cable from the 24-pin ATX connector on my motherboard of my secondary system for hours last night and part of this morning, but I had a hard time doing it and just gave up on continuing to try to disconnect the ATX cable from the motherboard and just let it be and made sure it was firmly connected before using the system again. Is there a special tool or trick to disconnect 24-pin ATX cables from a motherboard ATX 24-pin connector if I'm having a hard time doing it the normal way? I never had such a hard time trying to disconnect a 24-pin ATX cable from a motherboard in my life. The power supply in my secondary system is a PowerSpec 500w and the motherboard is an MSI H610M-G WiFi DDR4.

Look real close all around the connector for discoloration. The plastic pieces may be bonded from overheating.

I looked closely and with my phone's flashlight to see if I was making progress at pulling out the cable and I saw no areas discoloration of the plastic ATX connector.

There is little latching/hook thing on one side? Some times those are a pain to fully squeeze or press with the aging fingers and/or cramped or contorted angle of the hand. The stubborn ones I rock back and forth (vertically not laterally).

Is the board flexing much while you're trying to remove the connector? If so, find a way to reduce play there. For example, if it's possible to press down near the socket while attempting to disconnect the cable.

I remember the era in which I was using Corsair CX PSUs in my basic builds and having a hell of a time pushing the final millimetre of the connector into the socket, whereas other brands (e.g. Seasonic / Be Quiet) were much easier.

Definitely don't forget the latch though

Oh yeah I've had a few where the board flex was wigging me out and preventing me from applying the force needed to get it disconnected (or connected). I have resorted to removing the entire chassis cover or both side panels, if there was a hole in the motherboard tray through which I could get three fingers on the edge or underside of the board with my other hand to provide some counter-resistance. That is to say, I have given a few motherboards the reach-around. HA!
