Always doom and gloom from you. My family there has high hopes.
It would be nice if you could give a small amount of faith in the Ukrainian resolve. Peace .
Resolve isn't the problem, ammunition and manpower is. Those bastards held that town for over 700 days under near constant assault.

Anyhow, the 'gloom and doom' is from the Ukrainian soldier, not @Jaskalas.

Contact your representative, ask them to send more shells to Ukraine. Yesterday.

Ukraine has purchased an additional 12 Caesar SPGs. They've lost a few during the war but total donations and purchases should bring them to like a 100 gun fleet when all received. Availability might be partially behind more orders since Nexter doubled their production capacity of these to a dozen per month. Much faster than they can get stuff from Rheinmetall.

Ultimately the structural disadvantage Ukraine faces in manpower can only be overcome with a substantial increase in firepower. This can be accomplished but requires the will in the west to do it.

agreed.

But I also appreciate his dedication to miserable hopelessness because I think it is indeed important to remind ourselves that none of this is easy for the Ukrainians, and we should all continue to consider how desperate it really is for them. I don't think we are getting the full story in the west, partly by strategic need.

Sounds like AFU had a productive hit on an airfield in Borisoglebsk last night. Going after that KAB delivery, where Su-30/34s live. Hope they nailed a bunch. Satellite pics aren't great. You can tell things burned south end of the runaway but that's about it.

Russia has mountains of ordinance to use for their glide bombs, but the numbers of airframes and pilots available to them are thankfully much smaller. Even if Ukrainians only bagged or grounded one Sukhoi, that's a win.

Those airframes are getting a lot of wear and tear on all of the takeoffs and landings also, and Russia has very limited ability to replace airframes.

Pilots at that base live in town too, looks like AFU may have targeted some of them at home. *cough* I mean, darn that "falling debris."

Even with that last order of 40 Su-34M, I believe when you factor in losses thus far in Ukraine the number of Su-34s is <200, total.

Meanwhile, the 1,000th F-35 was manufactured a couple months ago. Just sayin.

Well maybe the Russians will shoot a few more down and a few more will simply crash. It is amazing the Russia can waste their limited supply doing flyby around Alaska.

The war is becoming much more expensive for Russia. From my understanding, this chart tracks the signup bonus offered for contract soldiers to go to Ukraine in a few regions.

Source

Russians seem to be reluctant in signing up. Perhaps there are less and less dumb Russians left. Apparently in some of the regions, the Army is competing directly for men with the factories that are producing armaments.

Appears to be another mobik meat wave in the works unless Putin starts paying his recruits more than they value their lives.

Much increased pay for signing a contract also causes other problems like worsening inflation and even deeper labor shortages for the rest of the economy. Arms makers are not remotely close to fully staffed. Wisely the Russians have chosen to make this problem even more severe by banning women from many types of production and heavy industries while also making it illegal to import labor.

A game changer for Ukraine indeed. It's not like those Russian Lancet's will find them or anything:

Maybe some of those ancient HAWK defense system from the 60s were sending them can shoot them down.

Just watched a YouTube video from the sun showing what they think was a Russian su-57 felon shooting down one of Russia's su-70 stealth drones. Only two are thought to exist. Hehe.

It was clearly triangle shaped and they also show its wreckage on the ground. It's in the first 4 minutes of the video.

Did I hear some dickless, fascist sucking cyka mention a game changer?

Help, the copium does nothing Just crazy how flammable Russian tanks are. AFU doesn't even need HEAT rounds.

Sorry to hear you haven't been mobilized or suckered into a "support role" yet, do keep trying though ok? Those orcs need you man. Maybe pick something else to try and flex over though? 3 pieces destroyed? AFU kills 3 field pieces before breakfast, almost daily it seems. Trying to bash an American weapon from the damn 50s that still works on plenty of Russian targets, even SRBM? Haha, definitely not the flex you think that is.

You know who isn't laughing at MIM-23? Any Russian pilot within 40km of it. Fuck off putz, and save your pathetically ignorant cheerleading for weapons that need it. Sarmat, for example, or perhaps those metal coffins you Kremlin cockholsters call tanks.

Too bad the Dutch pilots and maint. crews couldn't go with those Falcons. Talk about the force multipliers they could'a been for the AFU.

I'm still hoping we see a foreign pilot unit form up, once Ukraine gets more airframes in country and available for sorties. This is where Poland and Romania could make some basic runways and maintenance facilities on their side of the Ukrainian border, let Ukrainian F-16s show up for repairs and maintenance, doubletime. They just have to re-enter Ukrainian air space unarmed.

Stock these bases with a variety of American, Dutch, and Polish pros, people who have been taking care of F-16s for decades. They'd be training Ukrainian ground crews the whole time too.

Found this prewar video interesting.

All the noises coming from Russia these days are ideological based. I don't know if the topic the above video talks about is the start of it, but interesting timing nonetheless.

Meanwhile, next door in Kherson....
Russians doing Russian things, and hunting down the civilian population. One drone at a time.

Russian drone drops charge on an excited dog as the civilian owner returns home and opens the car door. Antonivka, Kherson

From the very beginning of Putin's SMO, terrorizing Ukrainian civilians is SOP PSYOP. Could it be that from the Russian point of view every adult Ukrainian is a potential soldier should things get down to that level of existential threat to their nation and every child or folks too old to put up a fight are valid military targets for weakening the morale and their will to keep fighting on?

Of course, Russia and Putin have been accused of war crimes by the World Court, yet it seems that's of no concern to them just as China had summarily rejected the World Court's decision the China does not have rights to the whole of the South China Sea.

I wonder if possessing dual citizenship status would give legit cover for foreigners to "legally" fight along side the AFU as far as the Geneva Convention etc. is concerned, not that the Russians would abide by any of it it should it prove inconvenient for them to do so.
