FIrst, please stop with the hyperbole. The false attribution about my level of emotions is silly. I have spent almost my whole life in combat sports, this is hardly enough to get my blood pressure up. 🤣
So that you have a very specific example of why I respond as I do: Rollo, the infamous Nvidia focus group shill that plagued our forums once upon a time, often employed that exact tactic . It is intended to make those calling attention to the vendor's shenanigans appear to be not only overreacting, but as an indictment of their character for bringing the vendor to task for their BS.
I am not implying anything about you in particular. I accept you are most probably being completely genuine, but understand, you are typing things that I have seen going back more than 20yrs. The "I own and use the competition's hardware so I can't be a shill" schtick was his bread and butter. I very publicly, in our GPU forum here, traded him my Nvidia 5800 Ultra for his ATI 9800 Pro. He only had it to gaslight others. I had roasted the 5800U hair dryer thoroughly here, and he proceeded to present it as far better than it was once he received it in our trade. Meanwhile the 9800 pro was miles better than that POS for me, while gratefully being quiet.
I hope this helps you understand why when vendors engage in anti consumer tactics I put on the warpaint. I will ALWAYS side with my fellow consumers and not the faceless corpos victimizing us for profit. How they used people like Rollo reminds me of this cartoon -
They set us against each other, and it costs what amounts to peanuts for them. I just want 5 minutes in the cage with them...
Conclusion: I am old, salty, and everything old is new again.
