It's terrifying to think that if Trump wins, he will wield his influence to dismantle NATO or at least cripple it enough to make his handler in the Kremlin crack a momentary sneery smirk on his face. Trump and the supporters he's persuaded to become Putin admirers really is Putin's knife being held at NATO's throat.

I just wonder at what point in Ukraine's struggle to keep it's existence as an independent democratically run nation will the USA hand over to Zelenskyy the tools he needs to push Putin's murderous concrete crushing looters back over the border. In this regard I'm hoping at this time there are hundreds of AFU personnel in NATO member nations being discreetly trained to operate the latest and greatest of what we have to offer Ukraine in the way of weaponry without revealing to the Russians the tech that makes our stuff a whole lot better than theirs. I really hope we don't end up in a "too little too late" scenario in this regard.

It breaks my heart to see the AFU take the blows it's been getting and still retain the resolve to fight on for as long as it takes to win. It's like having a relative in ICU struggling to survive while the doctors are dilly-dallying with their life saving resources without any explanation as to why they're behaving that way.

The obvious solution to getting Ukraine weaponry that we would prefer not to provide ourselves for security reasons would be to take seized Russian cash and pay Ukrainian industry (with western help) to make it themselves. Cruise missiles, ballistic missiles, long range strike drones. They have quite workable models of all. They can make it cheaper than we can and without the intel/political complications.

*cough* Fear is healthy, da?

SoD Austin: “If you did this (use tactical nukes), all the restraints that we have been operating under in Ukraine would be reconsidered.” “This would isolate Russia on the world stage to a degree you Russians cannot fully appreciate.”

.....

Sergei Shoigu: "I don't like, kindly, to being threatened."

SoD Austin: "Mr. Minister, I am the leader of the most powerful military in the history of the world. I don't make threats.”

I can’t figure out why grasshopper comes onto a forum of informed people and never waivers from such obvious sock puppetry. Definition of insane.

Mental illness could well be part of it, but my guess is a very small amount of money mixed with a toxic admiration for people he perceives as tough.

The complete lack of self respect he exhibits has always been a bit odd though, I'll give you that.

Conjuring up fairy tales must be your coping mechanism I see. Interesting.

That hit a nerve did it? haha

Why resort to fiction when facts are even funnier?

Biden and Austin drew a line in the sand for Putin and Shoigu, who aren't crossing it. Call it fear, call it Putin's love of living, doesn't matter. He doesn't want an American warhead applied to his forehead. Deal with it cyka.

Oh, no, I get it now. This is all part of cyka's NATOstral cycle. Close to clockwork, it's got him feeling agitated and down.

"The North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) will begin its annual nuclear exercise on Monday in western Europe. Named ‘Steadfast Noon’, the nuclear exercise will see the active participation of more than 60 aircraft in training flights for a period of two weeks. All the aircraft taking part in the Steadfast Noon exercise are fighter jets capable of carrying the United States’ nuclear warheads."

Stealth fighters and weapons that work, blyat!

Two weeks long, ugh, cyka you better stock up on the Chobani and Gilmore Girls reruns. Get a good blanket.

Well, knowing that a B2 could be over your head at any given time without knowing it must be a bit unnerving when you think nuclear threats work.

I mean really how could the Russians miss those tanks ? What did htey think would happen ?
I read somewhere that they were disguised as a Ukrainian unit, which would also explain why the tank waited so long to blow them up.

Might also be a bit confusing why the enemy is driving straight towards you even with your main gun barrel tracking them all the way.

I'm assuming the RU driver thought the AFU tank was wrecked, that as fskimo mentioned, their disguise was working until (I assume) the FOF authentication from the tank didn't get a confirmation squawk from the BTR and by then it was too late for the BTR to clear the tank's slew.

Not if Trump gets elected. I do wonder though if there isn't any kind of lockbox this offer can be safely stowed away in where Trump can't get at it and tear it to shreds?

edit - He'd scrap the whole deal out of spite and just so he could personally benefit from doing a re-do on his terms. It's just business after all. /s

There wouldn't be a re do.

I don't think we have to worry about it. Putin's dancing, brainless orange monkey is going to get stomped in Nov. Ukrainians have been doing a stellar job of rejecting fascism, I believe young and rational Americans are eager to do the same.

Why won't Biden allow Zelensky to strike Russian territory? Why is he so afraid of Vladmir Putin?

Maybe because Biden is hoping for some sort of ceasefire, and hoping to de-escalate things so we don't have to blow Putin to smithereens?

The bigger question is why is Trump always underneath Putin's desk when they have their "meetings", and why is Putin's pants at his ankles when this is going on? As Elon Musk would say, concerning.

I would agree that Elon Musk is concerning.

Meh, Zelenskyy has toured Bucha's mass grave sites, seen the results of Russian torture, rape and execution spanning nearly 3 years. He's had much harder days than Biden saying 'Sorry, you have to use your own long guns for those targets.'

I suspect it's easy to cheer up when you see defense giants setting up shop in your country, or consider how Ukraine itself has become a master of low cost, high performance, ground breaking weapons. Ukraine should be proud of it's defense industry

"Ukraine has produced 25 times more artillery and mortar shells in the first half of 2024 than in all of 2022. Ukraine’s defense industry is reportedly able to produce 4 million drones a year." Yikes.

Ah, but Putin has *checks notes* 10k malnourished North Korean troops and engineers with no combat experience who are already deserting. A missile he wants to threaten everyone with that doesn't work, production that can't keep up with losses, and an economy spiraling the drain.

Might need some more snipers too.

Because between Joe Biden and Putin, one, President Biden, is an adult and the other is a bloodthirsty piece of shit with puerile dreams of glory built on the deaths of his fellow slavs.
It’s funny how he’s been reduced to ‘my dad can beat up your dad’. It’s doubly funny when it’s so entirely obvious that, in fact, his dad would stand zero chance.
