Some absolutely insane level of QB play, both directions. Mahomes and Purdy having a contest to see who can suck more, and then Goff playing lights out 3 games in a row.
Jayden Daniels might already be the 3rd best QB, behind Goff, and...Sam Darnold. Everyone else seems to be inconsistent as fuck, or has just been playing like shit most of the time (Mahomes, Rogers).
Then again, maybe Washington is just playing really well. Sure its the Panthers, but putting up 40 with Daniels barely playing, that's a team rolling.
Revenge is a bitch you 49er fuckers! That's what you get for sending all your castoffs, from Krieg to Smith.
And yeah, sports media (which includes the announce teams) is shit. I read an article recently about how Mahomes sucking is actually him being great somehow, cause playing like Alex Smith channeling Matt Cassel is true greatness. It literally tried arguing that he's throwing to more wide open receivers than ever in his career and that's proof of him being great. Its like, uh, no that's because he's checking down like crazy and even then its clear the offense fucking sucks as that seems to fail half the time even. It was clear to me even last year that they were putting way too much of the blame on the receivers (other than when dipshit was lined up on the defensive side of the ball and then they had a meltdown over it) and that Mahomes is part of the reason the offense has been playing like shit. Its clear some of these guys are not even watching the games at all, as there's like a weird thing where they act like Kareem Hunt has been playing like shit (or doesn't matter, and the Chiefs need to trade for a WR and also their season is over cause Pacheco went down) when he's probably saved their season, cause he's the main reason they don't go 3 and out every possession. And he keeps the offense going just enough til Mahomes finally does something, which takes like 5 times the number of tries. And even then they end up kicking a field goal most of the time it seems.
I'm also baffled that for all the talk about Kelce's start, they're not mentioning how he apparently spent the offseason doing a shit ton of acting, and I don't mean commercials. Anytime I see a new show or something I find out he's in it or signed on for it.
But I cringe just reading the headlines on the articles as I already know what the article is. Make a huge fuss out of one game, or other stupidity, and then like 3 weeks later they write an article almost the total opposite.
Aiyuk done for the year, Deebo hospitalized for pneumonia and fluid in his lungs, CMC still out, Mason playing with one shoulder smh. Kittle probably played with some nagging injury that wasn't reported lol. And we got Dem Boyz on Sunday night. Shut'em down for the year jk.
49ers seem to have devastating injury every time they play the Chiefs. Jimmy G in 2018, Greenway in the Super Bowl.
Which, this year might show the value of running backs. Saquon and Henry doing well on their new teams. 49ers struggling without McCaffrey (and Pacheco causing alarm, but then Kareem Hunt filling in well for Chiefs). I think they said teams are averaging something like 2nd most rushing yards per game and 1st being like 86 or something. Teams averaging more yards per attempt than just about ever as well (although that's been elevated, think 2022 was high up as well).
