Something else is changing that so far hasn't hit the news to be exploited.
One part of the 'Inflation Reduction Act' changed how Medicare companies pay for drug costs. They key issue is a $2,000 annual limit for out of pocket drug costs. That has resulted in some very large increases in some Medicare premiums, some higher co-pays for DR vists and hospital stays, some loss of benefits and some companies have shut down in some states. Other plans haven't changed at all, and in some cases offer better coverage for a lower premium.
People are complaining about the new premiums before they see the $2K cap and realize their total annual costs will probably be lower, and before they take the time to shop for new plans.
Since Nov 5th comes before the end of the Annual Enrollment Period in December, we can expect some finger pointing at Joe for 'jacking up medical costs'.
I've seen some complaints that premiums went up X,000%, but they don't say that the premium was less than a dollar a month in some cases and only went to $10 or $15 a month and that people were paying thousands of dollars a year for some drugs, but will now only have to pay no more than $2,000 a year.
