Watch Salems Lot last weekend, movie sucked. 1/10 would not recommend to anybody.
oh because they are allll the same. The moment Silo Ep 2 started and they are like "hey, we need to go talk to New Character for the Quest Item" i was fucking done. How did you know that? Read about it before watching?

At least link to the time slot where they cover it (27min). Movie sucked. Wasn't scary, actors didn't seem in it and the parts they were playing apparently parts of their brains removed as their stupidity had me asking multiple times W T F.
The burn is definitely slow. So much that I'm having a hard time finishing S1, even though I like it. I think I have 1-2 more episodes left, and I actually forgot about it lol. Looks like I'll be finishing it up this weekend.
I am definitely looking forward to Silo S2, and also The Morning Show whenever that gets released.
The last episode of season one of severance was excellent. Imagine watching everything but that? So strange.
Also, having read the silo books, season one was not mostly filler 😂
i never made it to the last episode of Severance
Yeah but see, this isn't good. If your show is 9 episodes long and all the good stuff is concentrated in the last episode, then you failed at writing a series. I'm ok if the season finale is *better* than the previous episodes, but i had lost all interest by Ep 6, and then tried to keep watching but my interest was failing. I made it to the very beginning of Ep 9 and just could not go on. At the point, it doesn't matter how great your finale is, if people need to suffer to get to it.Oh boy, you missed out then lol. Although it is in the same vein, fwiw. But I like slow, thought-provoking shows like this. It's kind of like the Lo-fi Youtube music channel for me lol.
Watch Defending Jacob and the insane Foundation and Three Body Problem.but so far pretty good content!
His wife almost died and Russian doctors saved her through some weird treatment. So I guess he feels indebted to whole of Russia somehow. Also, maybe his wife has Russian roots? I know his daughter's name sounds Russian. So add these all up and Trump is the only one who would "help" Russia. I think the guy's terribly conflicted. It could also be some sort of blackmail since he's been to Russia. Who knows what they have on him. Or he was brainwashed extensively while he was there. I generally love his videos. But I was kinda taken aback when I saw him talking with Musk and agreeing that Trump would be good for the US.WHAT THE FUCK HAPPENED.
6/10 for me. It was a decent and fun watch. Didn't think too hard. Sandler doesn't shine in comedy roles much, except for few instances. The last ones I remember him from are where he bets on basketball and another where he's a basketball scout/coach. Both had him play roles unusual for him.My vote: 5.5/10
i watched the .. uh .. think "so bad it's good", but replace "good" with "sad".
Pixels (2015) - https://www.imdb.com/title/tt2120120/reference/
Starring Adam Sandler and, surprisingly, Peter Dinklage.
Sandler is a kid who grew up in the 80s, and he was a wizard at arcada games. After getting beaten in the 1982 world championships by Fire Blaster (Dinklage), he fails at life, doesn't go to MIT, doesn't grow up to be a genius.
But, his 1980s buddy (Kevin James) does become President Of The U.S.A.
In the present day, Earth Is Attacked By Aliens(tm), because they captured some space probe with 1980s videogames and they think it is a challenge to fight. So they are essentially being attacked by 1980s videogames, and Sandler is the Champion(r).
.. the first problem is that, the whole point of the story is the rags-to-riches of Sandler's character, ridiculed by everyone for being a loser, but given the chance to save the world with his otherwise useless skill. And Sandler loooooooooves to create these loser-to-winner characters, and as a result he doesn't do shit until forty-seven fucking minutes in.
The jokes, well they are not great. It's like, they wrote them, but had no intention of them ever being funny; and almost actively tried to make sure they have zero comedic timing.
If there is one thing Sandler does not know how to do, it's deadpan, like, zero, nada, nicht.
Peter Dinklage is magnificent, as always. The foil / love interest Michelle Monaghan is a pleasure to the eyes, and the CGI is fairly entertaining. The acting is actually good from everyone, it's just that the scenes are written to not be funny. It's also weirdly well directed, and the dialogue is competent. Really, the only element that, absurdly, fails in this comedy, it's that the jokes are ridiculously not funny. I've said this before, "oh such and such film wants to be a comedy but it's not funny at all", but here is more like, they are actively trying to present the joke in a way to not make you laugh, as if this was a comedian explaning to another comedian in a professional way how a certain joke is structured, and how it should be delivered - but not trying to make them laugh.
It's a shame because it's otherwise a competent film. My vote: 5.5/10 - a film you can use the VLC 5sec skip button on at leisure and not feel bad about it.
Wow. Somehow missed that. Need to check it out!I just rewatched Mr. Deeds last week

Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire - https://www.imdb.com/title/tt21235248/reference/
Another depressingly bad film. Mind you, i found Afterlife to be quite tolerable, because it used a reasonable format; you got the why, which is the family about to lose the farm, the mysterious inheritance, the secret lies about Egon, and then the one "special" character (the girl), so all in all it was watchable.
This instead suffers from that "2024 Hollywood production"; there's too much of EVERYTHING. Too many protagonists. Too many sidekicks. Too many random "i'm in 1 scene only and then i'm gone forever" minor characters that have to be written like they are the star of the show. You know, the reason why those characters exist in the first place is to show you that THE PROTAGONISTS ARE SPECIAL. That's why you have the soldier that gets unceremoniously killed by the alien/monster/robot, so that you then fear that the same could happen to our heroes .. while at the same time knowing that can't happen.
The cast stars *everyone*, and once again they have that indian guy (Kumail Nanjiani) doing the same character he does in every film, while i reckon i decent decision would instead be to never cast him again ever in anything ever. Mr Mediocre AKA Paul Rudd starts as Useless Person, eh ok i have spent enough time on this review. It's shit.
4.5/10
Didn't you watch Substance???
I saw Mr. Deeds. Man, that movie's gonna give fits to feminists (girl falling that hard for the guy, seemed unreal). But they really don't make stuff like that anymore. It's crazy what studios were willing to do back then
it's in the pipeline.Didn't you watch Substance???
