I don't see many reports taken into account that Nikki Haley continue to get 30% of Republican votes during the primaries even after she dropped out. Now I don't expect all those 30% of Republicans to show up. But if 5 or 10% of the Republican vote is not for Trump or is for Harris, that's a lot of votes.

Yes, if Trump's weakness in the GOP primary can even modestly be converted to Harris votes and how many is truly a major outstanding question. The triple whammy for Trump is that many of these are white women, they are educated, and they consistently vote. R Losses with these voters in the swing states could make the difference.

You have to order 35 bucks or more to get free shipping without prime. Now I have more motivation to just try to limit Amazon shopping in a big way.
That's all I do. If I happen to really need something quickly, I just add TP or paper towels or something.

What I don't like about Amazon is.. they usually don't ship for quite some time.

So I almost always use ebay or walmart since they ship faster.. especially if it's the same price.

Also both have better return guarantees if needed.. I don't return often but sometimes you have to as the item is just garbage (an SD card that was advertised as 200gb but turned out be 8gb).

Aliexpress is the one where the refunds are impossible and you're stuck with the item.. thankfully I don't order much there.

Honestly the buying experience there has gone to total shit in the past few years. Have ended up ordering from other retailers more lately because of it and sometimes its even cheaper.
I just got an email about their shopping AI (Rufus). I have no interest in using it. To add insult to injury, I see paypal is going to start sharing shopping results with advertisers

This is nuts if true. Are they still trying to get in? Are they tailgating?

We were walking around meandering lines for almost two hours. Wife jumped out and found lines on the opposite side of the stadium were shorter. Took another 20 minutes after that.

We got there at 2:45 - doors opened at 3:00 and close at 7:00. Some folks had been here since 8:00AM

Early voting is ongoing right now in Houston, should have directed them all for a 5 minute drive over to the nearest early voting location if they can't get in... open until 7pm
Facts. First day of voting for me is tomorrow. Usually I’ve always voted on election day, but not this time. I’ll go tomorrow.

It’s kind of crazy thinking of how many people don’t vote when there are so many ways to do it. Turnout should be like 80 to 90%. But we got to 66.7% in 2020; that was the highest in 120 years.

Just remembered that the orange monkey has a rally here today at 7:30. I was driving to the pharmacy, and saw three businesses with "Welcome Mr. President" on their signs which reminded me.
Kind of pointless since he won't be leaving the airport. But now at least I know three places to avoid in the future. One I've already avoided for years.

What a joke, they are running videos of the Biden debate before the rally, and fox comments about it . He's not you opponent anymore...that was over three months ago. What a loser.

Search YouTube for Trump Traverse City, I'm on the AP link. Sure it will be the same speech he gives every day.

Washington Post letter to the editor... from most of their own columnists (but includes precisely zero of the Post leadership staff or editors):

Opinion

Post columnists respond

The newspaper’s refusal to endorse a presidential candidate is a mistake.

The Washington Post’s decision not to make an endorsement in the presidential campaign is a terrible mistake. It represents an abandonment of the fundamental editorial convictions of the newspaper that we love, and for which we have worked a combined 228 years. This is a moment for the institution to be making clear its commitment to democratic values, the rule of law and international alliances, and the threat that Donald Trump poses to them — the precise points The Post made in endorsing Trump’s opponents in 2016 and 2020. There is no contradiction between The Post’s important role as an independent newspaper and its practice of making political endorsements, both as a matter of guidance to readers and as a statement of core beliefs. That has never been more true than in the current campaign. An independent newspaper might someday choose to back away from making presidential endorsements. But this isn’t the right moment, when one candidate is advocating positions that directly threaten freedom of the press and the values of the Constitution.

Yeahhh Bezos shot the endorsement of Harris down because he’s afraid Mr. Orange will retaliate if said Orange wins. Kowtowing to authoritarians always ends badly. Clearly little Jeffrey doesn’t remember history.

So much for “Democracy Dies in Darkness” as their tagline.

Them and the LA Times, what are we even doing here.

That's because people are stupid. They don't understand that inflation isn't going much lower than it already is, and the current higher prices are hear to stay. What they think will happen, and they think lower inflation is, is actually deflation. If we go thru a cycle of deflation, it most likely will destroy our economy, cause massive unemployment, Stock markets would crash taking the majority of the nations retirement with it, salary cuts across the nation, and most likely create another great depression.
Yes, and deflation leading to economy tanking in the USA would undoubtedly spread depression all over the globe.

I usually find cheaper prices elsewhere (and shipping is always a factor). I'll Google a product and see what comes up, check ebay. When I do buy on Amazon I always get free shipping. I wait until I have minimum of $35 in the cart. Sometimes an Amazon 3rd party seller has blanket free shipping. A lot of the time one of my credit cards has a 5% cash back for Amazon purchases.

I just hate having to have all these accounts from different retails. Some will allow Google Pay but some insist on making a account with them. I also appreciate with Amazon looking through my history to see what I previously ordered. I have a bad Amazon addiction and cannot seem to kick it.
I use Amazon more than anything to research products, read customer reviews (which as I alluded to above today used to be much much better because people could comment to their heart's content on other customer reviews, but Bezos tossed all those comments in the incinerator ). There's no obligation to buy. I put things in my Amazon cart and just leave them there as reminders. If I think there's a possibility I'll buy, I'll move items cluttering up my cart to Save For Later. I'll do that a lot of times because I want to further research the product, generally by reading reviews. Or maybe I'm in no hurry and will leave items in Save For Later as potential make-up items to reach the Free Shipping minimum.

I have scores of items in my Save For Later list! I also keep data on just about everything I buy online, usually including the URL to find it, also what I paid for it, any additional info I might be interested in at some later time (that I think of). That goes for Amazon, Ebay, Walmart, Target, etc. I haven't bought from Newegg for many years, but used to. Haven't noticed competitive pricing, plus I rarely buy computer parts nowadays.

50 minutes late so far. AP cameras showing at least 100 people leaving through the exit, and it hasn't even started....

Even though I have the Washington Post for $4 a month for a year I'm still going to cancel. The only major news site I will continue to subscribe to is the guardian
My NYTimes subscription's $5/mo IIRC, because I bitched online. Found out about that working from a comment in a NYTimes article, believe it or not! I give a few bucks to Wikipedia once in a while.
