I never leave the house without one.Kept up with pfizer and boosters, got it last month and the flu shot.
Same for my dad and my wife.
My wife got COVID once on a plane and gave it to me before she realized it.. but we managed to not give it to my dad.
That was the biggest proof that N95 masks work!
I never leave the house without one.
My sister didn't get any of the vaccines and she finally got covid a 2 or 3 months ago. Her teen son has had covid a few times so I think she thought she was immune. That wasn't the case.Wife and I have had the first 3 Covid shots each. No other boosters. Never had Covid. Been around and lived in the same house with family that had it. We get pneumonia shots each year. Haven't had pneumonia since 1983 in Basic Training.
I normally don't get my shots until November. Do you think they will tweak the flu shot to make it more effective? If so I can give them more time.Got my flu shot this week. I always get it, every year, for the last 2+ decades. Never once had any symptoms of the flu shot. But, it does affect different people differently.
This year, it seems less effective. Only 34.5 reduction in hospitalizations. https://www.beckershospitalreview.com/public-health/this-seasons-flu-shot-is-less-effective-cdc.html
Seems like they didn't choose the right strain to go up against.
I don't believe I've ever gotten Covid, but almost the entire population has at some point. Remember many cases are asymptomatic so it's impossible to know whether your sister actually contracted it before. My sister didn't get any of the vaccines and she finally got covid a 2 or 3 months ago. November is much better than October for the flu shot. That is since the flu shot lasts about 6 months, and flu tends to be rare in October but outbreaks can occur in May. But, I just take it when my work offers it (I sign up for the last slot on the last day of the last week). My sister didn't get any of the vaccines and she finally got covid a 2 or 3 months ago. Keep us informed, I am thinking of down the double down injection this week or nextCOVID and flu yesterday, feel absolutely miserable today. SO and I both get very, very strong reactions to both.
We may be an exception but ever since the first covid jab, we've always done it on a Thursday, take Friday off, and usually better by Monday. Feel like absolute shit until then, like 'don't leave the house, no chores that don't involve a pet, ramen and hot totties for four days' shit.Keep us informed, I am thinking of down the double down injection this week or next
I need to plan my next flu & booster shots like this. I always do something stupid like get them on Mondays or Tuesdays, feel like crap the next day and either be miserable in the office or just call in sick. This sounds like the go to!We may be an exception but ever since the first covid jab, we've always done it on a Thursday, take Friday off, and usually better by Monday. All covid shots have made me feel very fatigued that evening and the next day except the very first one and the last one which was my 6th or 7th.We may be an exception but ever since the first covid jab, we've always done it on a Thursday, take Friday off, and usually better by Monday. At this point, the best data I can give you is that this shot has felt like previous shots for me. Plan accordingly. All covid shots have made me feel very fatigued that evening and the next day except the very first one and the last one which was my 6th or 7th.
I need to know if I need to plan on having more than one day of fatigue.
What a bullshit conclusion: The vaccine didn't work for me this time, so it doesn't work well for anyone...Got my Covid and Flu shot on Oct. 3rd, 22 days ago.
I've had mild symptoms starting two days ago. I tested negative for Covid yesterday, and positive for Covid today. My other half had symptoms starting the day before me. She tested negative so far today though. Maybe it's very mild? I don't feel too bad. Have a call into the Doc for Paxlovid.
Our elderly neighbor fell down the steps Sunday cracking a couple ribs, and his wife was three days post hip replacement. My wife volunteered to stay the night with them, until their daughters could drive up from Indiana the next day, since neither were very mobile. She said he was coughing all night, thought is was the ribs...
This is the second time she brought this home to me. I'm guessing none of us are protected well at all.
That wasn't my conclusion, it was yours. Like I said, very mild so far, it was also mild the first time I got it March 2023, I attribute that to the vaccine. Just pointing out that I still got it, only three weeks after vaccination. Peek protection starts at two weeks. What a bullshit conclusion: The vaccine didn't work for me this time, so it doesn't work well for anyone...
(Hope you feel better soon.)

Cool, because that isn't what you wrote the previous time. Funny that you now attribute it to me. Anyway, not giving you a hard time. The rest of what you wrote is perfectly reasonable. That wasn't my conclusion, it was yours. Well the title of the thread is "How well". I think Muse is concerned about getting it at all. At this point I think not getting it at all is impossible. It mutates faster than the vaccine.Cool, because that isn't what you wrote the previous time. Funny that you now attribute it to me. Anyway, not giving you a hard time. Got my COVID booster and the flu shot, one in each arm.
I don't expect anything except for possibly a sore arm for maybe a day.
