There is a gas pipeline running on the surface in the video. I think the photographer ruptured it.I'm thinking any sand field with that much gas near the surface is not something you want to be standing on.

It could be abandoned with just remnant 'pilot light' fumes. I would NOT risk it though. Totes agree with above, whole lotta nopes going on there.Gas pipelines are like ~1000-1500psi, I think there'd be a bit more fire involved if that were the case. Maybe a slow leak that built up?
Regardless, seems like a bad place to stand and chill.
