An article in my recent news feed.
This article highlights a positive sign that more Asians are taking action against outright racist laws, mostly passed by Republicans.
The issue is, these are specifically targeted laws, that target groups such as Asians. The problem isn't so much that it's worded to exclude those without permanent US residency, but that in practice, even if you have permanent residency, or are a US born citizen, there is a bias towards you. The article seems fairly written, and mentions the discrimination that Chinese have experienced going back 150 years with outright racist Page Act of 1875 or the Chinese Exclusion Act of 1882.
This is the type of laws that Republicans are pushing. They are not a group working towards being inclusive. They, and their leadership, are actively working towards bias and bigotry. I for one am glad some of my fellow Asians are waking up to the fact that Republicans are not good for America, and they are not good for Asian Americans.
It isn't just racism towards Asians, it is towards others as well. For example Puerto Ricans. Puerto Ricans are Americans. They are born American citizens. And yet at a recent Maga rally, you have speakers on stage inciting hatred towards them. At other Maga rallies, you've seen hatred incited towards other minority groups.
