An article in my recent news feed.

This article highlights a positive sign that more Asians are taking action against outright racist laws, mostly passed by Republicans.

The issue is, these are specifically targeted laws, that target groups such as Asians. The problem isn't so much that it's worded to exclude those without permanent US residency, but that in practice, even if you have permanent residency, or are a US born citizen, there is a bias towards you. The article seems fairly written, and mentions the discrimination that Chinese have experienced going back 150 years with outright racist Page Act of 1875 or the Chinese Exclusion Act of 1882.

This is the type of laws that Republicans are pushing. They are not a group working towards being inclusive. They, and their leadership, are actively working towards bias and bigotry. I for one am glad some of my fellow Asians are waking up to the fact that Republicans are not good for America, and they are not good for Asian Americans.

It isn't just racism towards Asians, it is towards others as well. For example Puerto Ricans. Puerto Ricans are Americans. They are born American citizens. And yet at a recent Maga rally, you have speakers on stage inciting hatred towards them. At other Maga rallies, you've seen hatred incited towards other minority groups.

There is a deep entrenched power of WASP and European Diasporas in the US. Nothing new

Curious to what extent there's such a category as "Asian MAGA". Is there a constituency of Asian-Americans who are delusional- enough to support Trump? I don't know anything about it (though I do know a fair number of [South] Asian Brits were quite keen on Brexit)

This is all I see in the op. No other text, no link.

Weird. Here is the OP.

Seen a lot of extremely pro-Trump Vietnamese, even ones that came over after the fall. Which is funny because he absolutely never would have let them in the country and shipped them all right back to their northern brethren for re-education.

So the issue is that Chinese nationals are banned from buying real-estate in Florida. Permanent residents and naturalized citizens have no such restrictions. I have no issue with that.

Not sure how many there are, but there are definitely some. I personally know one person who has lived here in the US for decades and is head of a "Chinese for Trump" group. She makes most Magas I've known seem pretty tame, and they are not tame. She's rich, and that is part of it. No doubt Trump is the preferred choice for rich people out to keep as much of their own stash as possible.

Bottom line, there are ignorant whackjobs of every color and creed out there, and lots of self-hate apparently too. It seems pretty nuts to me for a woman who is an ethnic minority to support a racist rapist, but hey you gotta do you I guess. Minorities can be plenty racist against other groups, whities ain't the only assholes. There'd be plenty of chickens donating to KFC if the Colonel ran and they could vote.

Social conservatives, who don’t really understand what Christian nationalism will mean for them.

Vivek, Nikki, Bobby just to name a few..

You know that story about the Bobby portrait in LA right?

And ofcourse over the pond there's Rishi, Priti, Suella etc.

There's no shortage of the asian version of Uncle Toms.

I'm sure they all think their white daddy won't consider them one of the "bad ones". And there's a chance they'd be right, as long as they pony up some cash or at least adhere their lips to his ass. The Project 2025 type guys, well good luck with that. Trump will likely be dead in a couple years and that's a different ballgame. Trump only cares about what is good for him, today.

Completely agree, socially conservative persons of color have missed that at its core the MAGA movement is really one of white Christian nationalism. The real leaders of the movement don’t give two shits about them or their funny ungodly religious beliefs.

Yeah they will have the joys of having loaded the lgbtq folks onto the trains before it’s their turn I guess.

I'm not going to argue that the GOP aren't pushing a racist agenda but the article seems to be addressing a law that targets "citizens of China, North Korea, Russia and Iran" from buying land in the US not ethnicities who are US citizens.

That's not racism, that's geopolitics.
