Much better than my images which are just blobs of color, lolol. Still, it was very cool to finally see aurora in real life.

Yeah need a good camera with tripod so you can do long exposure. Although I have seen people manage to get them with their phones. If I try with my phone I just get black.

Took this shot with a fat lens while waiting for the comet to show off its tail and while I was in post with this pic, I noticed what looked like an island to the right of the sun that doesn't belong there. I've never seen a cloud formation that looks like that. I took at least 10 other timed shots until the sun was gone and that ghost island was in every one of 'um. Refraction of our neighbor island Kauai as it's reflection bounced off the clouds came to mind but that island definitely does not look anything like that. Sort'a reminds of those action adventure movies where you'd have to wait for the sun to be in the right place at the right time for it to reveal some secret or another.

Male American Cardinal and juvenile Brazilian Cardinal showed up in my backyard while I was applying ceramic paint sealant to the family go-fer. The baby cardie's parents came zooming in moments later. I learned a long time ago to keep a camera set up for taking long shots from the countless occasions where I missed those really rare golden opportunities including forgetting to load a mem card or going for a fleeting quick shot only to find out the battery's dead.

Painted Rock Petroglyph Site, west of Gila Bend, Arizona

Sears Point petroglyph site, northeast of Dateland, Arizona. Sears Point has more petroglyphs than Painted Rock but the lighting was terrible for photography yesterday. I think one would have to be out there at dawn in summer to get the light on the major panels. Since temperatures in summer spike well over 110F, I'm not sure I'm going to make a summertime trip.

Nice in-flight pic Ironwing. And the petroglyph pics are awesome. They took me for a ride back in America's history book. What's so interesting is we have sacred historically significant petroglyph sites here in Hawaii too, and it amazed me to see the similarities between the ancient Hawaiian versions and those pictured in your post.

We went to Sears Point to see if there were any petroglyphs like the ones on our land, about 150 miles away. The basic "people pics" were the same but not the geometric oddities.

It was very nice weather outside.

^^That's south by the way, at 14:43. Days are getting shorter and shorter. One more month and things start to finally improve.
