It has been an enduring source of frustration for me that so few of the pieces that (I think correctly) discuss how voters are mad about inflation do not mention that it's the near-universal evaluation of economists that Trump's policies would make inflation much, much worse. That seems like highly relevant information!
Dumb as a brick are the Trump voters. Snowed by R propaganda claiming inflation and immigration are gnawing away their lives, they've come to echo the voices. I can't hear any of it without seething at the disinformation.

But voters in UK and France rejected conservative takeovers of the government, suggesting the same could happen in the USA.
The UK government flipped though, and incumbents globally have faced backlash, be they liberal or conservative.

I tried getting permits to open a garbage dump in Atherton Ca. but got blocked by local residents. Seems they don't want garbage next door. Do you think the same principle might apply here? I've heard some unsavory stereotyping about people from the South. It's almost like Southern White people were an inferior race. Word is they even turned their religion into garbage. Of course, I don't believe a thing I hear. It's just that people tend to resemble what they were taught to believe and that has a lot to do with their local environment over which none of us can control at this late date. Many of us were born surrounded by idiots. That's how I became one. No harm no foul. It's couldn't have been otherwise.

By accident I went to a profoundly liberal high school and the English teachers made me read heavy shit and asked me to defend my positions on it. Who knew there was so much pain expressed in literature and so much questioning about what life means. Shit. Teachers can change how you see things but how many good ones are out there? All I wanted was to make a touchdown and get loved by the girls and have endless sex. Ah me! One of my cats is looking for pets and the other is asleep.

The only time when they worry about imaginary issues is when they twitch in their sleep. Happy election day.
Apartments, townhouses, etc != Garbage dumps. People are not pollution. You just want your property rights to arbitrarily encompass your neighbor's property.

Surveys that actually asked the tariff/deportation questions saw support rapidly erode when tradeoffs (higher prices everywhere, slower economy, massive labor shortage) were made clear. Harris reframing the issue as Trump wanting to tax lower and middle income people to pay for his tax cuts for the wealthy/corps was probably the best move that she could make on this front.
She did that, and it's true, but in general I didn't see/hear it explained well if at all. I suppose people could fill in the blanks with their imagination. An article has a tariff on it, it jacks up the price you pay for it, that jacks up inflation. The extra money you pay amounts to taxation, if you think about it. Meantime the federal government makes tax cuts principally for the wealthy, especially the very wealthy.

A lot of talk = I made it up.
In Donald's itsy-bitsy mind, anyone voting against him is by definition "cheating".

So yes Donald, as you noted, there are a ton of sane citizens voting against you in Philadelphia.

In related news, Donald barred all press organizations that have ever written negative articles about him from the campaign watch at Mar-a-Lardo, phase 1 of dumping the first amendment. (Phase 2 if he wins power will be going after them with the full power of the government)

Apparently nothing.. I thought dems would lose heavily on that issue as MAGA seemed to make real inroads with that.

Maybe the eating the dogs and cats was like selling a bridge and backfired!
Or sometimes we find ourselves downwind from the alt right turd factory and we catch a sniff.

I nkow some people who voted in NYC early but in blue areas, and it was smooth as silk. Just very busy. You live with the rednecks
The area that I live in is infact a light blue area, and it still was a mess, thus I do not think it has to do anything with blue or red areas, but rather how many people are willing to volunteer as a poll worker at an election site.

On a side note... 1 Hour till Georgia polls close.

I believe they said there was 10 voting machines at the voting site at Temple University.

The line was like 80% women. 90% POC.

- You know a thought crossed my mind... is there a time limit for how long someone can spend in the voting booth?

Couldn't you theoretically shut down a whole polling station by having 10 dudes show up and just occupy the machines for really long stretches of time until people give up and go home?

I voted like 45 mins ago. It was crazy. Two out five ballot scanning machines not working. The line to get the ballot was non-existant, but the line for the machines to scan the ballot was literally a spiral. The center is where one enters and the outer end of the spiral was where the machines were. There was no markings for each layer of the spiral, and a large group ended up making a circle going back to the end of the line by accident and delaying us all.
I heard someone behind me discussing with a friend that they wanted to call the Election Protection Tipline to complain how a poll worker ctold her that she lived in an red area. They actually called the number when the line fiasco problem occured to complain about staff shortage at the site in regards to line monitors.
The person in front of me brought their toddler with them, and the person in front of them literally was a police officer.
I really love VB mail, especially now that the return envelope doesn't require a stamp in CA. Every registered voter gets a VBM sent to them, mine arrived around Oct. 10. I drop it in a USPS mail receptacle. Did so yesterday around 10AM, the pickup was noon. Got a robocall at 8AM today from "Sacramento" (I was asleep!) saying my ballot had been received and was being processed. I will get another saying my ballot has been processed and my votes counted, probably tomorrow.

Interesting question and I do not know.
I live where you get handed a paper ballot and that ballot goes into a scanner box, I feel this is a superior way to handle voting.
In the unlikely event someone tried to do this we would simple fill out the ballot elsewhere.
Also you’d need 10 dudes who live in that voting district which sort of puts skin in the game. I kind of suspect it would be hard being one of those guys going forward.

Also it sounds like fuck around and find out territory. Because at some point an election worker will ask them to stand aside and take a handout while so they can decide without stopping the process. Also even if police are not needed it will become a game of nerves because once you are in line to vote you cannot be removed from that line. There is no time limit.
