Sometimes you need an outsider to tell you what is truly going on:

They sent over some people to get the feelings about the electorate and people cared about:
1. price of gasoline
2. coup/ insurrection/ fascism/ rapist/ threat to America didn't matter enough
3. Rogan is the most influential person in the US
4. legal immigrants aren't pro immigration.. they see them as a threat
5. Alarming people think a strongman government is better than squabbling politicians in a democracy if it brings down the price of gas.

It's adorable that you think that would actually matter to him and his cronies. Remember, SCOTUS already told him that any official act is immune.
Immune from prosecution, but he can't decree a constitutional amendment. It has to happen by virtue of constitutionally proscribed actions. Trump can't just say I want a 3rd term. That was made impossible after FDR did it when it was permissible.

Murdoch destroyed Britain and he's done the same to the US.

Seriously, I see this stuff all the time here. Do you people really believe there won't be a presidential election in 2028? Do you believe that the 2 term limit won't be in effect? Evidently so. How the fuck could that happen? I don't believe it. Besides the political difficulties in that happening, Trump will be 4 years older and he's already a half sentient geezer. Who's going to figure that he should be chief executive until 2032?
What part of the president cannot be prosecuted for anything he calls an official act is hard to understand?

The only silver lining to this is he can't do another 4 yrs, although I suppose he could get one of his lackeys/family members elected

I think all the Trump 3rd term bullshit is asinine—kinda of a moot point when MAGA is now the standard-bearer for the Republican Party. There will be no shortage of JD Vances or Trump Juniors running for office in federal/state/local elections for the next decade at least.

You do know that if the majority vote for the earth being flat doesn't mean that it actually is flat?
You do know that democratic elected persons have cancelled democracy and turned the state authoritarian throughout history?
You do know that just because Trump won, doesn't mean that those who oppose his policies will stop fighting for what they believe is right?

And unlike you I don't believe a democratic majority should be used to crush your opponents. It should be used to make the best policies for all citizens no matter their political view.
So what kind of democracy should we have? What part of the population should be chosen to elect the president? The majority of the people voted for Trump, more importantly, the majority of the states voted for Trump.
Democracy is a good thing or a bad thing, you can't have it both way's.

I think had Trump succeeded with his coup in 2020 that it was at least possible that it could signal the end of the democratic process as we knew it. If Congress can be either made to by mob force or voluntarily tosses the results of a free and fair election then that's probably ballgame. Right now monkeying with any of this is not on Rs radar since they just won. If thermostatic opinion does its thing in the next couple years it might become a live issue again.

Ranked choices, all eligible voters allowed, no interference from the usual suspects.

A equitable democracy that does not arbitrarily reward close states with outsized political power. Without the EC Trump never becomes president in 2016. The executive should have to win a majority of all the votes.

Hillary might have had a case for that but not this time!

He won fair and square and clear.. ranked choice wouldn't have done jack shit this time.

I just don't understand how you can underestimate a guy who said he will jail his opponents and is 100% completely above the law to do so. He is telling you what he's going to do and you do not believe him. Lotta good Germany's constitution did to reign in Hitler.

You’re viewing ranked choice thru the lense of a two party system.

The people wouldn't do that. A majority of the people saw through the fake Russia collusion, fake impeachments, fabricated sexual assault civil trial, protest called insurrection, Political lawfare, and lies. You can only fool the people for so long. When you go too far, they figure it out. Good luck rebuilding trust in the propaganda machine.

Weird.

Heck, MAGA is the standard bearer for the entire country now. They are the majority. And control most levers of government and the SCOTUS, governor's mansions, etc.

Who is even in the Dems coalition at this point? The party might be over as we know it.
