It also means you turn off some of your potential clients but maybe in the end it's a successful strategy for them. That's easy, soldered RAM means you will need to replace the item rather than upgrade. OEMs/SIs don't get revenue when you upgrade.
9800X3D is only 4% higher frequency than 7800X3D. The remaining 6% would have to be from architecture.10 percent (mostly due to higher freq I guess ) is much higher than a lot of people were expecting a few weeks ago. Will be interesting to see the gain from my 5800x3d but I think I am sold.
Crazy performance versus 9950X and 9700X - over 30% faster in games.9800X3D review at Computerbase.de :
AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D vs. 7800X3D, 5800X3D & Core Ultra im Test
Der AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D ist der erwartete neue Spiele-König. Die Gaming-CPU im Vergleich zu 7800X3D, 5800X3D und Intel Core Ultra im Test.www.computerbase.de
Most important is 14% over the 7800X3D since that s the only real competitor.Crazy performance versus 9950X and 9700X - over 30% faster in games.
Oh yeah, absolutely it does. The last time I did some research for a a laptop there were very few that were upgradeable. It was for a work colleague and I had to get one that day so I had to settle for LPDDR5 as that was the only one in stock. I went with 32GB on a relatively cheaper laptop to be safe.It also means you turn off some of your potential clients but maybe in the end it's a successful strategy for them.

I knew they would be. Heavy Intel bias on that site and forums.TPU's results seem a little low comparing to other outlets.
Insane difference versus 285K. Intel will be in the rearview mirror for a VERY long time. 35% faster is like 2 generations of upgrades on intel side, including a huge Vcache type solution.
Embargo was an hr earlier than I expected. Apparently any improvements is very welcome LOL @HardwareUnboxed. Can we now officially claim Zen 5%*2?
Beautiful. Just beautiful!
