I believe in God, but it's hard to right now because Trump uses God so much in his bullshit to pull the MAGAs in deeper. And what happens? He got rewarded by winning the election which all but eliminated his legal worries. I think there is a large chunk of the electorate that is simply burnt out. The right has done a masterful job of flooding the zone with shit, whether it be culture wars or just trumps rhetoric and the insanity spewed from other righties. It’s a lot to have to deal with to people who actually care about the country and so they’ve checked out. They fucked around and now they are about to find out.
I think the best move for Dems is to lay low and let the republicans hang themselves like they do every time they get into office. That won’t happen though as democrats always put country first and can’t just let a dumpster fire burn. The republicans for decades have proven without a doubt that partisanship is what Americans want, the more partisan and the least amount of compromise the better. Clearly trying to appeal to disaffected republicans was a losing strategy for Harris.
Democrats best option is to play the game as it stands and do whatever it takes to gain control in the future where and if that happens they should put in all the safeguards and reforms our democracy needs. Anything other than that is a losing strategy.
