I made this post in another thread but this feels like a better place for it:

Anybody trying to dissect what the Dems did wrong to lose this election regarding Kamala and her campaign, that don't bring up the huge right wing medisaphere that exists, along with a mainstream media that has mostly both-sidesed and sanewashed Trump, while not telling the truth about things like the Bidenflation narrative that was a Global inflation narrative, etc...You'll never figure shit out if you don't factor that into the equation. It's a massive part of the reason.

If you do want to mostly blame the Dems then this is the biggest thing to slam them for - the reality is the Dems should have pushed Joe Biden out to keep his word as a transitionary president and we could have had a primary. I think Kamala did a very good job overall - but America is not ready for a minority female president, period. But she was the only correct choice after Biden dropped out. But with the way things played out in this election with the cards we were given, you have to talk about the media.

I yelled and screamed, like some others, that Biden running again was a terrible mistake and we had to have a primary. But we all got steamrolled, just like Biden steamrolled over the best shot the Dems had to defeat Trump - a competitive primary.

But until the Dems get some major media platforms as well as creators, this will just keep happening.

My son that is now 9 years old, has ALWAYS been into "girly" stuff since he was like 2 or 3. In Paw Patrol he was always pulled towards the female pup Sky. In Disney movies, he always like Princess Elsa or Moana or anything girly. In PJ Masks he liked Owlette the most. His favorite color is pink. He wants his hair long because he likes it. He likes nail polish and puts it on his nails sometimes. He likes wearing lip gloss sometimes. He has a little purse that he sometimes uses. He is very feminine.

I'll be the first to admit that at first this stuff really bothered me. I am super into sports and wanted my son to like what I like and get into sports but he didn't like them so I don't force him to do them or anything. I felt like everyone was looking at him and would make fun of him because he's different. I even have had conversations with him about this and he even told me that kids in school don't care they let everyone be themselves.

At that point it is when it hit me that it was ME that was being bothered by this and not HIM. At that point I started to be just fine with this stuff and let him do what makes him happy. Sure it's not "normal" to me the way he is, but it is normal to him and that is how he feels. And it's what he likes. And who the hell am I to tell him, my son, what he can and can't like, as long as he's not hurting anyone else.

I don't know if he is straight, gay, trans, or what at this point. And I also don't give a shit I just want him to be a happy person.

So my question to you is, why the HELL do you care SO MUCH about what someone who has absolutely no affect on your entire life, does in their own time and who they are? Why can't you just let people be themselves and be their own version of "normal" without you having to intervene?
Naturally I can’t answer for any one individual but I would offer a generalization. Men who fear same gender differences are not real men. They are fearful phonies roll playing macho roles. Manly men are disgusting because they fear and thus hate the feminine. They suffer the self hate disease.

Seems to me there's a lot of insecure male knee-knockers out there that saw Kamala as a threat to their puny peckered machismo. There shouldn't be a single woman out there in the wild that's able to hammer down on their self-professed male superiority complex and Kamala was just the right person to do it to them. It figures that what Trump fears about women is the same thing that his male admirers fear. They see themselves in Trump after all.

Ergo, Kamala had to be defeated because she was a real and present threat to their "manliness". I'll call it The Peckerwood Poison Syndrome for lack of something better.

Leave us not forget the Latino male machismo that surely affected the number of Latino males that saw Trump as "a fine example of what machismo is all about" and of which they solely based their decision to defect to the party that is trying to demean, disgrace and deport their asses. The irony of it all keeps rearing it's revealing head over and over again. John Wayne wanna-be's with a conservative issued license to look down on what they see as the "weaker sex" that should know their place dammit. Yeah, Trump has managed to hide his frailties and fears of that "weaker sex" so well with pure bluster and hubris, something that a lot of other men do just as well.

So sorry women of the nation, Trump's victory proved the nation's men who vote aren't ready to have you dictate terms to them, especially when they can choose an alleged he-man over a gender handicapped hu-man. I mean, why why can't women listen to their men and know their place in life. /s

Except a lot of women, mostly white, middle aged and older, decided to believe Trump when he said he would veto any federal abortion ban. That gave them all the excuses they needed to vote for the guy the really wanted in the first place and vote to affirm abortion choice referendums at the same time. They voted for him even though most probably know deep down that he'll sign that bill if it comes across his desk. He's not running for president again and he could give 2 shits if it hurts the GOP down the road. All he cares about is the evangelical praise and ass kissing it will garner.

She was essentially a continuation of an administration with a 40% approval rating. How could she have possibly won?

Also all the racist/misogynist name calling doesn't help, their votes count the same as yours. Dems need to abandon the identity politics if it hopes to get anywhere. Doubt they do anything though.

Voters were pretty clear at the exit polls, it is the economy in this case inflation and illegal immigration. Those were the two big issues.
That should have been the message and the plan.

I'll add to that that calling half the nation, racists, Nazi's, deplorables, garbage, ignorant, sexist, and a long litany of other insults doesn't win them over. Now we have a wave of outraged people crying and screaming because those no good assholes they hate didn't do s they were told.

Half of X/Twitter is convinced that the Harris campaign leaned too far center right, and the other half thinks they were too progressive for the country. LOL.

Basically it tells you it was a party without a clear identity and just throwing shit at the wall trying to attract enough voters. I can tell you though that parading around with Liz Cheney was probably hated by all demographics. Stupid.

I think it actually highlights very well that her campaign had a terrible messaging problem. They were all over the place. And campaigning with one of the most hated political families of all time was a terrible idea. Who sabotaged her so badly? Who let her go on camera and say "I wouldn't change a thing Biden did" ?? Like it's complete and utter malfeasance.

If Dems want a chance to exist, they need to completely remake the party. Ditch all the political elites and political dynasties. Even Obama. Stop touting all the celebrity endorsements. Nobody gives a fuck.

Dude. A huge reason Kamala lost is because of the right wing mediasphere, of which Twitter is part of, because they basically alter reality and create new false narratives.

so here you are, letting Twitter define the narrative again. wtf?

Biden is quite prideful and harshly breaking with him would have almost certainly produced public blowback.

If you want to assign some blame for this in particular take it up with Joe.

I don't give a shit where on Twitter it is. These are just a bunch of wanna be pundits screaming into the twitterverse. They are useless. I see them on threads too. Most of them are idiots. The radical far leftists that say Kamala was way too much for the center, they are just about as detached from reality as MAGA fyi.

IMHO the D's shot themselves in the foot by not replacing Joe early in the cycle with a male candidate. Then there are other things like the economy, ev mandates and far left agendas that many voters could not support. I'm probably going back to NPA.

Our best shot at finding someone to speak to the issues affecting a wide swath of Americans (urban, sub-urban, rural, coastal/middle America, 20-something to 50-something, white black Hispanic etc.) is Pete Buttigieg and at this moment he’s our best shot at defeating Vance in 2028. But there’s only one of him—and we need a whole new generation of candidates for mid-terms in 2026 that is focused one one thing only—rebuilding prosperity and quality of life for the middle class, providing mobility for those who aspire to be middle-class, and preventing billionaires, corporations and churches from dictating our rights and freedoms.
But if Harris lost the bro vote, lol they’ll support the gay guy. But how to fight this snowflake misogynistic movement?

The economy was #1 in most concerns but if you ask these same people how Biden caused inflation they couldn't tell you.

No one hear can support the notion that Biden caused inflation.

Get a guy like Wes Moore to run. Combat vet, pro police, YIMBY, pro marijuana, pro safety nets. Seen at Ravens games chugging beer with his constituents. Get him on Rogan a couple of times during the election cycle, and one time a few days before election day.

Play the game with the rules as they are. Stop giving up ground in this space to the GOP.

Who are you going to listen to? The Dem consultant class that got us into this mess?

And you yourself said they need to pierce the RW social media ecosystem, but we don't listen to the voters within it? I'm not saying to take everything on twitter as gospel, but to completely just ignore it seems counter productive.
