Just cashed out my TSLA stock for similar reasons. Donezo.
I would never buy TSLA or a T car. I don't know that I will cancel my X account, but I never post there, just read some threads (usually linked HERE), which I suppose is pretty harmless.

TBH, I wondered about a post I saw I guess here about POTUS (could have been anticipating Kamala, but could be Joe before Jan. 20, 2025) nationalizing SpaceX. That would be a kick in Mush's kidneys and a blow for the USA over the oligarch supreme right now in America, arguably.

Most women are really good at compartmentalization -- much better than men actually.

This can be both good and bad!
So, put a feckless serial liar with a shit-ton of grievances and a mind to punish in charge, grant him immunity and 4 years to blow up all your compartments? Ladies, you blew it.

I read some of Project 25 today. Conservative manifesto for US federal government and struck me as pretentious, partisan, self-affirming and with no sense of fairness. I'm sure these people are fine with gerrymandering and voter suppression in their efforts to ensure their aims. I could smell the evangelical Christian influence..., well, I saw it too. I'm sure they will lean on Trump to appoint the people they recommend. One thing though. Trump likes to assert his authority in terms of his making the decisions. Of course, his judgement can be laughably terrible. Or worse.
And the only thing they need to do to win Trump's approval is to tell him how great he is, how he makes the best decisions, and how they'd never question him.

Dems and their useless consultant class that apparently had ZERO insight into what the country was thinking. Yeah, hindsight was 20/20, but now looking back, how do you even let Kamala say "Yeah, I wouldn't do anything differently" ??????????? Just one of many gaffes along the way.

Yeah the Dems are relegated to the ash heap of history, and we are so, so absolutely fucked it is difficult to even put into words.
I personally am not aware of Kamala having been a gaffe machine.

She misspoke there but it was in an interview, nobody can be expected to give all flawless answers in impromptu situations. It was a gotcha question she wasn't ready for. She could/should have framed her answer differently and not be fodder for attack ads. Still, it wasn't some horrible thing she said, it was just hyped up by the Republican propaganda machine against her.

Not so much poor in speech, but in actions. Dictating terms to Joe Rogan was batshit insane. The Trump interview has 45M views on youtube, why pass on the opportunity to get your message out on the #1 podcast?

oh lordy here we go with this bullshit. bend the knee to Rogan who wanted a three hour hostile interview with probably a shit ton of gotcha questions. joe rogan is a right wing stooge, you think it was going to be somewhat fair at all? fuck off.

also joe rogan is an international sensation, would be nice to get a breakdown of all those views, they are certainly not all Americans, if even half.

I wasn't aware of her ducking her Rogan interview. I thought it was going to follow Trump's. Guess she and/or her team blew it there. 45M views? I didn't watch a second, hit stop in the middle of the one Rogan interview I watched, during the pandemic and decided to avoid Rogan's stuff.

Yeah, maybe it was best to flip him off.

If the US nationalized SpaceX, Musk and all the other investors would get a huge Payday. The US govt would have to purchase a controlling interest in a corporation valued at $200B+.

Is Congress going to authorize the funds? No Congress will not. Also SpaceX would have it tied up in the courts through the end of Biden's term even if Biden attempted it.

The only possible scenario would be if Harris had been elected and the Democrats got control of Congress which the opposite happened. So some people's dream of nationalizing SpaceX will have to wait.

Yes, stay in your safe space. That has been such a winning strategy for the Dems so far...

I've had TSLA for a long while because a) it made me a lot of money for my investment and b) i had (and still have) belief in their battery tech. Musk, while started as almost-tony-stark (at least in my eyes), devolved into a complete shitbird during that time. So meh, melt down the entire company and turn them into watches, I don't care anymore.

Have you heard Penelope Scott's "Rät"? The chiptune style doesn't appeal to everyone, but the lyrics are pretty much about this... and it was 4 years ago, before he'd plunged even further into his current villain form.

Good tune. Yeah, if there was ever an example of how far we could reach and still fail, it'd be Musk for this generation at least. We could literally be talking about a buildup to a Mars colony next year if that bag of assholes put half the effort into spacex and subsidiary tech that he has put into his twitter shitfests.

Rubbish.

I detest Leon as much as the next ATPN member, but SpaceX is doing fine. In fact, they are now TBTF for NASA and our national space interests. As @Brovane explained above, you can't nationalize SpaceX without further enriching Elon, even if you wanted to take his ass out of the equation.

A Mars colony is kind of a pipe dream, but there's nothing wrong with dreaming big and having a very long view. If it eventually works out, I'll already be dead anyway. We can't even get back to the moon next year, but you're suggesting Mars was possible if Elon had tried harder? LOL. He's a snake oil salesman, how does trying harder actually succeed faster?

SpaceX arguably succeeds because Elon focuses a lot of his energy elsewhere and he lets Gwynne Shotwell run the business.

If failing to the tune of a $250B+ paper net worth was as easy as you suggest, everyone would be doing it. He got very lucky but let's not paint his entire CV with his Xitter fuck up. Besides, he got a bunch of his cronies and banks to put up most of the actual money. Presumably some are annoyed at him but he couldn't care less about the billions he's personally lost. He probably thinks it was well worth the "investment" to buy a U.S. presidency.
