End of Russian sanctions also means once again possible Russian fuel imports for Trump to "bring down gas prices" ?

100%, gas underpins all inflation to some extent so i think the play will be to get cheap gas from Russia and Ukraine gets thrown under the bus.

What Trump might be missing is that companies aren't going to bring down prices, they're going to pocket the profits.

Good for my 401K, bad for the little guy.

Russia increasing production is not necessarily good for the US as US oil producers have higher break even price points than a lot of other countries. Gas gets too cheap, the US oil industry goes under.

Even if Trump lifts sanctions there is no guarantee Europe will. Gazprom's market is also almost entirely gone there and not coming back. They have locked in long term contracts for LNG deliveries.

The US didn't really import much Russian oil before 2022. The US is the #1 producer of Oil in the world and exports a lot of oil. The US mostly imports Oil from Canada, Mexico, Saudi Arabi, Iraq and Brazil with the majority from Canada. US importing oil is more about the convenience for the refiners and dealing with the Jones Act. As far as Russian Oil impacting the market, I doubt it would move the price much and bring down gas prices in the US. It would not be good for US LNG exporters to end Russian sanctions. They have been making money exporting as much LNG as possible and they don't want Russian gas exports back on the market. I don't see Trump ending sanctions on Russia unless he gets substantial out of it.

Elon Musk was apparently on Donald Trump's phone call with Zelensky. No idea what was discussed--but I really, really hope Zelensky recorded it.

Hopefully it wasn't "make a deal with Russia now, or else we're cutting you off from Starlink on January 20th."

I guaran-fucking-tee you he recorded it.

Not only is it standard practice, people learned a long time ago that you always record Trump because he lies about everything.

Saudi's discovered that this break even point was a lot lower than they thought. Saudi's and OPEC tried to flood the market in late 2014-2015, remember prices had been around $120+ a barrel before then. They tried to break the US shale oil production and didn't work then and I doubt it would work now. Shale Oil producers would pull back some but sustained Oil at below $50 barrel would break a lot of OPEC countries. I think the break even point for a lot of US shale producers is around $40 barrel. Yes it would painful for US shale oil producers if oil dipped below $50, but would be devastating for OPEC countries including Russia.

Reports say it was an informal chat and nothing like that was discussed. Musk happened to be there and Z told him that they like Starlink and that he was calling from one.

Worth remembering that both Trump and Musk are extremely susceptible to flattery and Zelensky is not stupid.

Musk’s appearance on the call, which was first reported by Axios, wasn’t coordinated, according to people familiar with the conversation, but he happened to walk into the room right as Trump and Zelensky were speaking.

Trump acknowledged the billionaire owner of SpaceX, whose Starlink satellite service is used widely by Ukraine’s forces, and Musk said hello, prompting Zelensky to say hello back. Zelensky then noted he was using Starlink for the conversation, and Musk replied that he would keep sending more Starlink ground stations to Ukraine and then left the room.

Still drying your hair in the microwave, eh cyka? I like how the forum asshole who drools over Russians trying to wipe out Ukrainian people and culture calls others "warmongers." Hilarious indeed. I hate Cheney too, but he wasn't trying to wipe out Iraqis and their language, he wanted them to elect their own leaders. Once again you're just trying to deflect and whatabout to protect your genocidal crush. Weak shit, but like Afghanistan references, kinda all you have right?

No cyka, Trump would prefer to extort Ukraine, as per Daddy Putin. Do you need a link that phone call that proves it? You don't remember the double impeachments? Shocking, just shocking.

Trump will increase the bloodshed, kind of his thing and you know it. See Ukrainian support obstruction, or gee, helping a preventable disease kill more Americans than all of our wars combined.

Even a complete moron with shit for brains like you should be able to understand the worry of our worst political disaster doing a repeat. Why aren't you able to perform this most basic of connections? Why the devotion to being such a pathetic fucking joke here? Can't be the pay.

Biden fixed Trump's broken economy, finished off covid, ushered in the best run of employment in our history. And now it seems once again a repug failure inherits a robust Dem economy hewn from a previous repug failure. One of these days you're really going to have to start reading history books, cyka... Trump took credit for Obama's repair and success, he'll do it to Biden too, and shitheads like you eat it up.

And right on schedule, here's comes Cadet Bonespurs the felon, rapist and insurrectionist, about to give our economy another massive haircut while letting the wealthy loot the place.

So angry, so bitter, so sad, too bad.

Trump is very transactional with every country but Russia, to which he act subservient.

To me the simplest solution is the most likely one. Trump is transactional and the transaction here is Russia has shit on him so Trump does what Putin wants.

That's always been the simplest explanation. It might not be "the pee tape", but them having dirt on him explains EVERYTHING.

Genocide promoted by cowards and morons does irritate me, true. Egon knows as much about war as you do (nothing), and Trump might not care about being blackmailed anymore now that's he's in the clear. You should communicate your perspective to the Russians still getting chewed apart en masse by Bradleys and HIMARs.

Why don't you show us you're not bitter and chime in on Putin proving you wrong? Or is he wrong? Do tell, educate all us sad people.

Or, maybe you can clue us in how NKs are supposed to use a porn addiction against weapons that work? C'mon Field Marshall Cyka, lay it all out.
