Question Can I use one static ip instead of two?

I currently have 2 static IP's. One is one the Gateway and another is on a DVR. I am switching from Comcast to Verizon and want just purchase one static ip for the gateway.

My security system(Hikvison DVR) is currently set to a static ip, but I think I should be able to set it to a local ip (make it static locally) and then be able to Port forward the ports to allow me to remote access the security system through the static gateway?

You could skip it entirely and just use a tracker from a torrent to provide your IP based on the tracker hash for free and do your port forward.

There are torrent trackers that you can use to push your IP to their website. Then all you have to do is pull up the page to get your IP.
