Question Will need a new Hard Drive soon, baffled by choices!

Well I did a minor upgrade on my PC (replacing everything cuz mine is fairly antique), and so I will be running an Intel Core i3-13100F, on a GIGABYTE B760M DS3H AX LGA 1700 Intel B760 M-ATX Motherboard,, with 32GB of DDR5, if that matters...

In any case, I want something fast of course, need at least 1TB but don't want to spend over $100 if possible. I don't know anything about todays SSD standards. I'm assuming the PCIe type are the fast ones?

Anyway any advice at all would be appreciated. Will be a bit before I actually make the purchase, but need to get an idea of what I should buy. Thanks.

Yea i seen some decent ones on Newegg, even the 8TB was under 700

It's not as fast as the higher end WD or Samsung SSDs, but for $67 for a TB that is a pretty good deal at this point. And a 5 year warranty is good.

We don't know what the OP's system is...or whether it would support NVMe drives. If so, while the WD Blue isn't a terrible drive, it's definitely MUCH slower than the NVMe options.

Crucial MX500 1TB SSD, very comparable to the WD Blue:

Crucial DDR5 Classic 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR5 5600 x2 (32GB)
MSI RX 560 4GB
Teamgroup 500GB SATA 3 SSD
WD Blue 250GB SATA 3 SSD (ESO and games)
Samsung 7200RPM 750GB HDD (just video and ISO storage)

I got a ton of flack for not going AMD, but I just really wanted the latest socket and DDR5, and it was just easier and cheaper for me to go intel. I'm happy with it, it's a HUGE upgrade over what I was running. I couldn't have gone AMD without going AM4 and if I went AMD I wanted AM5 and when I do upgrade from this, that's the way I'll go.
