I'm starting this thread because #@$! a wheelbarrow cost me $150! I got the Husky flat free double tire wheelbarrow and it was $139 + taxes. WTF in the world is going on? Post your gripes and links if you so please...

Shipping things is expensive. I just bought crackers from Sweden, and it cost $122 to ship them. I want to send a friend in Denmark a couple bottles of liquor and some soap for jul, and I'm dreading what the shipping will be.

Not much of a wheelbarrow enthusiast, but that seems less than expected. aka, I'm the guy ruining your life.....
Yeah, gotta say I don't really have a firm grasp on how much a wheelbarrow should cost, but that doesn't seem outrageous to me.

My gripe: good quality extension cords are f' me expensive. Maybe they always were and just bought the cheap crap.

Just checked, a 15' good quality appliance extension cord I got in 2012 was $10.90, now $15.29. I know you're probably talking about longer ones, but that's the only one I can easily locate the price for.

Thats a fine price for a wheelbarrow.
Is it? The last one I bought, maybe 6 yrs ago broke a few months ago and I swear I spent around $70, which was middle of the range at the time IIRC. When I went to HD at lunch, they had several that were right around the $100 range, but I wanted to try the dual wheel one. I feel like the extra wheel shouldn't have cost an additional $40 or so, especially with a plastic bin. Obviously I still spent the money on it. It feels sturdy with the 2nd wheel, but damn lol I will say, being able to make tight turns with the dual wheel vs. the single isn't that great.

I think its the flat free plus second tire that raised the price.
Yeah the second tire ads stability, but sucks for turning, also liquid loads are more likely to slosh out.
I had a 10 cubic foot dual wheel for a few years, and that thing kinda sucked to move around.

There is already a thread for this. It's called the First World Problem thread.

Looks like they’re out of stock right now, but Costco usually has decent quality 50’ 12/3 extension cords. Last time, they were 2/$29.99

They don't make them like they used to either. It's all plastic now and they're more flimsy. Try to load one with gravel and it will feel like it wants to fall apart as you're pushing it.

Nissan wanted $6,500 to replace a CVT transmission in my parents 2012 Rogue.

They got a nice 2023 Hyundai Santa Fe instead yesterday.

Currently a big fan of modern construction, where I have plenty of outlets available throughout my apartment. No more need for extension cords of unknown gauge and quality.

I am not sending Christmas gifts to friends in Italy this year. I normally sent humorous desk calendars. Shipping is twice the cost of the calendars.

Husky tools are usually made in China. There is now a 25% additional tariff on items using steel parts from China (it has steel handles). That wheelbarrow would have been ~$111 before the tariff.

Well when it goes to 60% or 100% they'll get cheaper right?

Many decades ago I bought my brother a DVD of Galaxy Quest for Christmas. We could ship things through the shipping department as long as we paid the shipping charges. For some reason the guys sent the DVD guaranteed overnight delivery. Instead of costing $4 to ship it cost me $20. The same price as the DVD.

My Dr. prescribed me one of those glucose sensor things and called it into the pharmacy. When I went to pick it up, my copay for a 30 day supply was $374! That is with being dual covered under mine and my wife's insurance. I'm looking at other options, a friend of mine who goes to the same dr. said she goes to a different company for medical supplies vs. a pharmacy and it's vastly cheaper. She has the same insurance as my wife.

I don't know how people with no insurance can get by with some of these rx prices.
