Hello all,
I have an odd one that I haven't seen before. Windows 10 desktop with a previously stable install for years. Yesterday I had an event with Steam having permissions issues which pushed me down a rabbit hole.
That never resolved so I cut bait and decided to do a system restore via windows. That completed and I was back on track reinstalling software and boom magically the problem returned for no apparent reason.
I am in a situation where no matter what I review I cannot download and / or delete files out of certain directories (like downloads). If I go to download software via chrome/edge I get a 'need permission to download' error.
Look at the download folder security and everything seems like it should be except I cannot edit any permissions.
Looking for any advice to review from a security standpoint on why all of the sudden I have permission issues even when logged in with an administrator account.
Thanks in advance
