Our posse. Ella on the left is my running buddy, she has run up to a marathon with me. She has a type of cancer that forms lumps all over her skin, her ears are bumpy and horrible. Eventually the cancer will affect her kidneys, we won't know until it's too late and it is incurable. She has already lived longer than most with what she has at 6 years old.

Anja is our ancient girl shepherd, she is a rescue and she is about 14 years old. She has had Synovetin injections in her elbows to keep her going, so she was radioactive for a while. Every morning I almost expect her to be found passed away in her sleep, but she still likes to go for walks and quench her core in the lake to cool herself off.
Bachardi is third from the left, he is 12 years old but looks like he's still 4. He has had surgery to do both knees a few years ago, he blew them both out at once. He has Wobblers disease and also Degenerative Myelopathy, he has had surgeries for it. He is getting towards the end also, but he rallies and can sometimes still take a run at the couch and jump up onto it. He wears a diaper around his little thing because he has no feeling so we keep him in diapers and squeeze the juice out of his bladder a couple times a day.
Amos is our Labrador. He is our most expensive dog to both own and operate. He was from a reputable breeder as we wanted a dog with no allergies or knee issues etc. He showed us and had to have a lobe of his lung removed due to inhaling some small sliver of a seed that causes a festered lump in his lung. He also bloated about a month ago and emergency GDV surgery was performed and he is mostly recovered.
We have pet insurance on our dogs and it has saved us a lot of money, the GDV surgery alone was about 8 grand before insurance and the wife's professional discount. If you have a pet that you love I highly recommend insurance. The wife being a vet sees many beautiful and loved animals that are put down because the owners can't afford bills over a few hundred dollars.
