Facebook suggested a post to me (really I need to dump that shit) and it was Oklahoma's county electoral map and captioned with "we're so proud of you!"
I had to look at the comments of course, and one person responded with "proud of what? 49th in healthcare? 44th in QoL? 50th in test scores?"

Of course they were summarily laughed at for bringing facts to a feels fight

Honestly, I don't think that's a killer point. It's just an inverted version of the arguments right-wingers make here about poor areas with lots of deprivation and problems being run by 'socialists'. That the Democrats get more support from people who are doing pretty well while Republicans get votes from those at the bottom of the heap isn't a good situation. It's a symptom that something is going wrong, really.

True, however they've been voting these guys in since the 60's , i dunno about you but i'd be voting for a bit of change instead of the same old policies that never seem to benefit anyone but the rich

Based on the information provided, the last time Oklahoma voted for a Democratic presidential candidate was in 1964 during Lyndon B. Johnson's landslide victory.

The key points are:

  • Oklahoma initially went back and forth between voting Democrat and Republican, but more recently it has been considered a safe Republican "red" state.
  • Republicans have won every single county in Oklahoma since the 2004 presidential election.
  • The last time a Democrat won the state was during Lyndon B. Johnson's 1964 election.
  • No Democratic presidential candidate has been able to win the majority of votes in any Oklahoma county since the 2000 election, when Al Gore was able to get more votes than his Republican opponent in 7 counties. However, this was still not enough for him to win the state.

So in summary, the last time Oklahoma had a Democratic majority was in the 1964 presidential election, over 50 years ago. Since then, it has consistently voted Republican in presidential elections.

You shouldn't ignore negative feedback loops when you see them. Personally I don't care about the anecdotal and often debunked right wing noise about Dem run areas because like it or not, red state policies lead in poverty and poor education. That's not an argument, that's math.

Btw, the main argument just now from Dems who voted for Trump was they weren't doing well. I would have preferred them to have repudiated GQP horseshit, say look up what a tariff was before voting, maybe take a peak at what inflation actually was - oh well.

We have lots wrong. There's the cult working with Russia problem, but we also have an electorate hampered by laziness and critical thinking problems. GenZ didn't show. 15million Dems found the price of eggs and the presence of brown people more disturbing than a senile Russian asset, convicted felon, rapist, insurrectionist and fraud killing our institutions while politicizing the military and DoJ.

It comes down to examples to follow and examples to avoid. It doesn't need to be a killer point that better education and less poverty leads to better outcomes, being objective and demonstrable works fine. Trump back in office is objectively bad news, his track record and his intended agenda leave little room for doubt really. Memes like that are pointing at what's wrong, trying to get people to make some connections. Bravo I say. Any system that does nothing but fail it's users for long periods of time deserves to be called out, definitely mocked for any attempt to sell itself as a success.

The answer to insanity is more insanity if you are insane. Insanity is a form of ignorance. People have had their feelings hurt by being called insane and the answer is to drag everybody down as payback. Everybody should be miserable because I am and nobody cared. Just following suit.

Are you kidding me? Joe still repeats Clinton hate memes to this day. No surprise. He just hated Trump, that's all his appeal was to me.
EDIT: In the big picture for MSNBC, it would appear that their effort to appear sort of fair was to employ several ex-Republicans as their talking heads. Worked out, right?
