A friend (not a competitive or insanely addictive gamer) says that the 3060 12GB is pretty acceptable for RT performance.
Yeah, I already own all three...plus Portal. It's not just HL2, it's episode 1 & 2 and a couple of extras too. Basically the entire Orange Box minus Portal.
Don't I wish...HL2 is my favorite game of all time. I still play it from time to time.HL3 must be incoming!
It's weird coz I missed HL1 so can't understand what's so special about it. Tried to play it but it seemed too primitive compared to HL2.Though personally I've always preferred Half-Life 1 to the sequel.
Ah. Then you are probably fine.Last card was an RTX2070, current card is an RTX3070...sadly, only 8GB though.
Try the "remake," Black Mesa. Graphics and game play is better even if it's panned as not being as good or detailed as the original. It's weird coz I missed HL1 so can't understand what's so special about it. Tried to play it but it seemed too primitive compared to HL2.
I think I tried it as soon as it came out. Still didn't have that "half life" feel that I got from HL2 (the sounds. the atmosphere etc,) and the lab setting just isn't for me. HL1 seems claustrophobic whereas HL2 is pretty varied in terms of environments (no idea about later levels of HL1).Try the "remake," Black Mesa. It's got some "out of doors" environments...and more. Is it as good as HL2? IMO, nope, not close...but playable if you're bored.I think I tried it as soon as it came out. IIRC, that’s what I paid for it a couple of years ago…Black Mesa is on sale for $4.99.
