I think the bigger mistake was just not going aggressively after people who tried to coup the government and then letting them run again for office. Democrats just totally dropped the ball when it came to actually using their power to defend against insurrectionists.

No, Dems at the top are too much of institutionslists and believing in norms, but norms don't mean shit when one party is happy to drive a bulldozer on through.

I don't think Dems are in on it, or any bs like that. And Bernie just needs to sit down. He talks about how Democrats abandoned working people, but wtf has Biden been doing. Biden has delivered time after time. It turns out that middle America aren't secret Democratic socialists.

Yep, Biden delivered and America decided they hated it. Future politicians won't make the same mistake.

There's an old movie that sucked so bad.. it killed Colin Farrell's career.. but in that movie there's a scene and line that Val Kilmer (King Philip) says to his son (young Alexander)..

"A king must know how to.. hurt those he loves."

I didn't understand it for almost 20 years.. I think I'm beginning to now..

Bonds of love and loyalty are made by pain and suffering, not happiness! People want the PTSD.. the nostaglia high of the bad times!

What really did Biden do though, specifically, that directly and immediately benefited middle class working americans? He waited too long to act on inflation, and did nothing really about the border. The infrastructure bill was needed, and provided some jobs, but implementation has been sketchy, and correctly or not, I think a lot of people think it is just more govt pork barrel spending. The "Inflation Reduction Act" really wasnt. It provided a lot of needed long term climate benefits, but little if any short term relief. There were a few direct benefits in capping prescription drug costs, but that really is about it.

Ok so you'll be okay paying more for prescription drug costs when Trump undoes it right?

Look what the socialists did to fair competition. The cheated the people who work hard and gave all the benefits to people who aren't worth shit, whose whole lives are built of freeloading off other people, not the folk who make America great and build ram tough trucks, hard working folk who put food on the table for their families. The rigged the system and cared about the wrong people, sent our jobs overseas and turned around and taxes us to support giveaways so now we pay 10 times the old price of a loaf of bread. What about me me me. You fucked the wrong people, you socialist swines, you ruined everything.

There are bad days and there are legendary bad days.
Biden's letting in migrants was a legendary fuck up and reading the country wrong moment.. Trump has a cult and it seems the NIMBY liberals joined it out of spite for her.. (price of eggs are just an excuse)

I tried to tell you.. she's not looked upon as a saint and worshipped like people did here in real life. Instead she's often called with the N word followed by the C word.

There's so much hate that I can sense.. I'm not sure the dems can recover from this..

You can't stop them or reason with them. You have to wait for them to go too far.. wait for enough people to wake up and consider it a major threat just like they started to think of Biden's liberal ideals on migrants a threat.

I have a feeling.. the migrants on every street corner changed hearts and minds.. and Trump's Pride Boys on street corners will be needed to tip the scale back.

I'll have to find the link, but Trump did substantially better than Harris with respect to "protecting democracy."

I think all the "Democratic lawfare" stuff worked with people.
Dragging out the criminal cases and the second impeachment was stupid and just helped the "weaponizing justice against us" narrative. Impeachment should've been in the Senate on Jan 7th.

No one paid attention to that. What they did pay attention to was all the social media posts talking about “lawfare”.

Sorry, it's not normal to have only one serious candidate from a party run in a primary.
There were other people that ran against Hillary. Maybe not people you liked, but people did run. However, it is incredibly hard for people to get any traction against a major name.

Seems like @MrSquished has decided to leave for Europe a bit faster than we anticipated.. but kudos to him.

I wish I was in a position to do the same but not with elderly family members.. I'll most likely still be here.

BTW a lot of countries that offer retirement visas.. the age generally starts at 50. Only Philippines has one that starts at 35.

Dragging out for so damn long made that worse, especially since it didn't even go to trial.

Shit hit the fan. Better get out before the dear leader shuts down the borders like every other dictator does.

Apprehensions are higher than they were under trump. So not sure how many he's letting in. And for the 4000th time, trump intentionally torpedoed the border deal to keep it as an issue. Sounds like in his heart he doesn't really think it's a problem. Or if he does he likes power (and staying out of jail) more.

For the same reason that nobody can talk about the obvious solution to the Trump problem, the Trump problem remains unsolved. That doesn’t mean that everybody doesn’t know what the solution is.

Dude you don't get it do you.. we're in a post fact society.. no one bothers to get facts..

They don't want to bother with civics 101 - 3 branches of government stuff.. Instead they want things fixed now like ordering a pizza or they want someone to blame for all their ills..

And who's the easiest one to blame in the entire country -- the President.
