I decided to stick with the 6600 and will be posting some benchmarks today or tomorrow. The upgrade the 5700X3D didnt help as much as I anticipated.
I'd say the biggest uptick on the 3D parts is typically minimum FPS and keep frame rate variability to a minimum. It's not a metric that always shows up in typical benchmarks that don't weight these factors. Typically you aren't going to be able increase in game settings based on it, it just solidly pushes the limitations to the GPU.
In practice, at least with enough GPU/settings set to get enough FPS it plays much more smoothly. That has been my experience.
Benchmarks clearly favored the 5900X that I ran briefly.
