Cool front is blowing in tonight but Saturday we're back in the mid 80s with humid nights and lows in the high 60s. Next Wednesday we finally get our first decent cold front of the year (highs in the 60s, lows in the 40s), coming right behind a pretty weak front we get Monday night. It's funny the cool front coming in tonight is still only going to drop us to maybe 6-7 degrees above average for the date for two days before it starts getting hot and humid again and we're back to 10-12 degrees above average.

Looking around. My hedges are still green. Some trees are still green. Some have lost their leaves. Grass is more green that not.

First overnight freeze may come this next week so some of that may change.

The county is freaking out about the impending storm. I've gotten robocalls, text messages and emails warning me about it.

Grays Harbor County Emergency Alert: A High Wind Warning issued from 2 PM Tuesday to 4 AM Wednesday.

East to southeast winds 30 to 40 mph with gusts up to 65 mph expected. Strongest winds will occur Tuesday evening into early Wednesday morning. Significant impacts may occur at lower-than-usual wind speeds due to the atypical easterly wind direction.

Damaging winds will blow down trees and power lines. Widespread power outages are expected. Travel will be difficult, especially for high profile vehicles.

People should avoid being outside in forested areas and around trees and branches. If possible, remain in the lower levels of your home during the windstorm, and avoid windows. Use caution if you must drive.

Damn…that was a storm! Last night was fckn crazy…we got hella rain…over an inch I think, winds 50-60 mph, then in the wee hours, more thunder & lightning than I’ve seen in decades…actually woke me up a couple of times when the loud boom shook the house…then, to add insult to injury…a decent coating of hail. Several spin outs on the highway this morning.

It's also snowing here in WV. We have a winter storm warning and we are expecting 6 to 14 inches and wind gusts up to 40mph. It's been warmish here so it won't lay for a while. Most of the deeper snow will be up in the mountains.

Winter arrived here in Central Illinois as well and I had the same thought as you. I also lit a fire and sat back in the recliner. Now I'm getting ready to watch the game and enjoy a beer.👍

We've got yet another "wind event" coming...supposedly not as severe as the bomb cyclone, winds 30-40 mph, gusts to 55-60 mph can still bring down trees.

Yea had snow that melted as soon as it hit something other than air today.
The temp according to truck Tstat was 38, windchill was Carhart breakout. 30ft up in the air is a bit different than surface level.

Looks very cozy at your place.
