What if you gave an open book test and the majority of the students failed?

Well, that is exactly what happened this month. A searchable resource was easily available with all the answers, and yet over half failed. So now it is FAFO time, and suffer the consequences of their actions.

I find this kind of Haha you fucked yourself, while profoundly ironic and definitely factual, I take no delight in it because they aren't just fucking themselves, this last election will go very badly for the whole world. I think there is going to be violence and death directly caused by Trump being elected.

I also feel that Trump voters were aiming to send a message to the world they don't give a fuck about anybody else. They just want revenge and the more you tell them their revenge is on them selves the more violent they will become. You can maybe get some satisfaction out of fucking others over and maybe eventually calm down, but to become consciously aware you fucked yourself on top of feeling you have been fucked by everybody else is only going to result in real determination to see the world end.

If you are determined that all your enemies should die and you find out who your enemy really is, killing yourself is the only path you have.

I remember a network midterm where 80% of students failed...

My first year CSC course only 20% of the students made it to the final. Started with like 1200 students.

I took a network class. The teacher had no idea how to teach but apparently had no problem taking a salary from the college. I took a philosophy class at the same college from a blind teacher who had no idea he put the whole class to sleep. All this happens, of course, because in a capitalist system every incompetent idiot needs to earn some kind of living.

That's because it was a requirement of tenure. They are there to do research, lectures are just their obligations.

I took both courses at a community college for my own edification. Those coursed, particularly the networking one were meant to fulfill humanities courses for graduation or provide direct professional job skills for employment. Both would have done nothing to really provide any young person any benefit. Both were an insult to learning. The teachers were there to teach, not do research.

I do know what you are talking about, however. But teaching should be done by people who care about teaching the love of learning, who love improving the character of others. Education has just become another business run by bean counters.

My life experience has about 30% of the people in a company or institution does 80% of the work. The rest just only do what they can get away with and not be fired. Actually working at your job makes the day go a lot faster. Oh, and the vast majority of those people reflect the basis demographics of the country, i.e. they were mostly white.

In 2023 the US imported $476 Billion in goods from Mexico. That means that we are going to pay $119,000,000,000.00 MORE out of pocket for basically everything.
Plus
In 2023 the US imported $428 Billion in goods from Canada. That means that we are going to pay $107,000,000,000.00 MORE out of pocket for basically everything.

In 2023 the US imported $428 Billion in goods from China. That means that we are going to pay $43,000,000,000.00 MORE out of pocket for basically everything.

So that's $278,000,000,000.00 total out of the pockets of Americans. That is $815 for every single person in the country, or $3,260.00 for a family of 4.

But Elon will get a tax cut, so I guess it's a wash.

See we can completely cut all other taxes and comfortably fund the government and pay down the debt with just the tariffs Trump has announced. Already he is making America great!

I have witnessed more people doing more work to get out of simply doing what is asked of them then doing the task itself. It IS NOT isolated to unions.

IDK, it's more they failed the test after the teacher kept telling them the wrong answers.

That's the most amazing part, some work really hard at not working.

It really is a spectacle to witness, to watch it unfold, and the amount of effort to put into getting around doing what was asked of them by the supervisor. I watched a few go the whole shift looking busy to not just do the 1 hour job and then sit back and relax rest of the day. FACEPALM 🤦‍♂️ We now have a facepalm lol. has to be inserted into a reply but its there. Just need one in the the like button.

Oh it’s worse than that. Taken this example. Let’s assume everyone wants to charge 100% more than the gross price of an item to cover their costs and profit.

Let’s say Nike contracts with a Chinese manufacturer for shoes.

China manufactures each pair for $10 and charges Nike $20 for 100% profit

Nike buys the shoes for $20 and sells the shoes to Foot locker for $40

Foot locker buys the shoes for $40 then sells the shoes to the buyer for $80.

Now Trump adds a 60% tariff on Chinese goods.

Those $20 shoes now owe $12 of tax. China isn’t going to keep the price at $20 and manufacture them at loss. They also aren’t going to sell them for $22 and not make any profit. They are going to charge $32

Nike buys it at $32 and they aren’t going to sell at $40 to Foot Locker and take that hit. They could sell it at $52 and keep their current $20 but let’s be real they are going to offer it at $64 for that 100% over gross price.

Likewise Foot locker isn’t going to lose $24 of their take and keep it at $80. They are going to sell it for $128 if they can.

At the end of the day that 60% tariff isn’t just going to be on the Chinese portion of the costs it’s going to be on the full retail price and that extra $36 on the total price after the tariffs is going to companies as profit.

(Thanks to Legal Eagle for that example)

Now you understand the plan, as the goal is to cut other taxes... but only for billionaire.
