I realized now Elon might actually suggest to "Defend the Police" considering how many federal police agencies there are.
It’s more likely that they will just install leadership intent that does whatever he wants. Enforcing the rules is fine so long as it’s on other people.

This entire thread is one riot.

First the liberals and the leftists cried and raged about how Elon wanted to buy Twitter. Then they raged and laughed at how Elon got such a bad deal on it. Now they are seething over how unfair it is that X is one of the most valuable informational platforms on the internet while also crying that their chokehold on legacy media didn't help Cackling Kamala win the election .

Now they have declared defeat and fleeing to Bluesky hoping it will be the next twitter.

This has come full circle.
Pull the other one, it has bells on. Cripes, what a moron.

I mean @Braznor is not exactly the sharpest tool in the shed to begin with but it's also clear he's drowning in right wing propaganda. It's sad more than anything. Can you imagine living like that?
It's easy to live like that if you stay on the major topics.
Uncontrolled immigration, bad idea.
Giving children drugs to stop their natural growth and maturation, bad idea.
Allowing unchecked government growth, bad idea.
Surgically altering minors based on a childish whim, bad idea.
Allowing men to compete against women in sports, bad idea.
The only other major one is abortion, and I've personally never been able to come to a decision I can live with. I hate both options. A safe, easy, long term, dependable, reversible, and free method of birth control would be a good solution.

It's even easier if you don't need or seek the affirmation of your beliefs by others.

You wouldn't know a good idea if it crawled up your rectum and diddled your prostate.

Maybe I’m missing something here but you are describing the sort of things right wing propaganda says that we both agree are ludicrous and untrue, right?

It is interesting that fully half of those things have to do with trans people though, considering the average American most likely knows zero trans people.

It's easy to live that way when none of the issues you pretend to care about affect you in any way.

also interesting to note how much longer greenman is going to accept that he is still a conservative once he realizes that 98% of those things that "concern him" are about people's personal lives and his apparent desire for the government to interfere in their simple existence.

these people are fucking ghouls. it's just lie after lie out of their mouths.

Transgender athletes are a major issue. Attempting a coup? Not so major.

referencing this post and accompanying article later in the thread

the polled population estimated the percentage of trans people at 21% of the population. the real value is ~1%.

the skewed perception really explains so much about conservatism. or maybe the other way around - conservative propaganda explains the massive perception gaps. just look at some of the top items where the estimated value has a huge delta from the real value - 20% of people have an income greater than $500k or $1M/year? 27% of the population is Muslim? 27% of the population is Indigenous? 30% of american live in NYC (like wtf that's 110M people)

I’m not surprised, there is a right wing propaganda ecosystem working 24/7 to push those issues.

I believe @Greenman was being serious that those are significant issues to him, but he doesn’t seem to realize that just shows how much his brain has been rotted by right wing media.

Such weird obsessions. That you would be willing to pay 25-35% more on everyday goods just to keep a handful of kids per state from playing in sports and to prevent parents from treating their kids by expanding the government which you apparently hate too.

Just wildly obsessive. Didn’t your folks teach you to mind your own business and let others mind theirs?

Well, you know, he wasn't convicted in a court of law, so how can we possibly have an opinion on the matter of a coup?
Although to be clear for the 34 felony counts he was convicted of Greenman's response appears to be that he doesn't care there either. It is totally:

1) 'If Trump is so guilty why hasn't he been charged with anything?' (--Trump is charged with dozens of felonies--)
2) 'Unlike the mob here I believe in innocent until proven guilty!' (--Trump is proven guilty on dozens of felonies--)
3) 'Those don't count'

It's just like Mr. Burns in the Lisa the Vegetarian episode. He says 'I'll donate a million dollars to charity... when pigs fly!'. Then a pig flies by and he's like 'nah, still not going to.' They were all just what he thought were acceptable excuses as to why he could still support a criminal. Then when those excuses dried up he had no choice but to admit he never cared about criminal activity to begin with.

Claims to care about children, and then votes for people who explicitly hate children and block policies that would actually help them.

GM/GOP: "We care about kids."
Kids: "Can we get free school lunch so we can learn more easily?"
GM/GOP: " "No, but we will harass a small number of trans kids, for your safety of course."

My favorite is those that oppose abortions and call it murder and whose policies they support have actually led to an increase in abortions. ‘I hate abortions so much I support policies that causes more of them!’

It’s right up there with hating higher prices but supports blanket tariffs.

Really what greenman is saying is that he enjoys his bubble.

Let’s go through these

Immigration…. Name the policy that trump admin implemented note the first 2 years the gop had all 3 branches of government

Why did the gop vote down the last bill

Obama had the most aggressive deportation of illegals. They gave him a nick name of deporter in chief or something like that

Trump has hired illegals at maralago

Nunes family farm hired illegals

Giving growth drugs to kids

Is this really that wide spread to bring it up or is just another bullshit CRT thing. I am thinking probably one or 2 docs gave some drugs to solve something else and that was it

Unchecked government growth?

What like the EPA putting regulations on clean water and air

Surgically alternating kids on a whim

Give me one fucking example this ever happening

Allowing men to compete against women

Give me stats on this. Like what in all sports what this happened like 0.0000001% of the time

And you are going to tell me this is a huge deal

Tell me what is the percent of kids going hungry…. But that is not even in your radar. In 2023 14 million kids went hungry in the usa

But you complain about government growth but want government to stop men playing in women’s sports. You are suppporting government growth while complaining about it at the same time

Admit it. You and the gop don’t give a flying fuck about things that really would impact peoples lives in a meaningful way

Not surprising he didn't actually vote based on policy but culture war issues. I'm still waiting to hear how deporting undocumented immigrants is going to help anything in this country, it's just so right wingers can jerk off over people's lives being ruined. Same thing with going after trans people, claiming it's to protect children and women while they elect a rapist who barged into a dressing room to ogle teenagers.

As far as I can tell 'identity politics' among conservatives is very much like 'judicial activism'.

'Judicial activism' = 'judicial ruling I don't like'

'Identity politics' = 'attempting to appeal to someone who isn't me'

It's ridiculous how much republicans focus on trans people, I was in Ohio earlier this year and the non stop ads about it were insane, repeating the same crap greenman is saying here. Living in Illinois I didn't realize just how hate filled and non stop these ads are in red leaning states, really doesn't surprise me at all that right wingers are obsessed with it and think it's some huge problem, doesn't make it any less pathetic though.

They do it to distract the populace from the fact that the GOP is breaking their state governments and robbing them blind.
