AMD planning a Christmas bonus for their European employees?
And right now it's € 547.00.Yesterday Videocardz said:According to HardwareLuxx, the price of the Ryzen 7 9800X3D is now higher than before [in AMD's own German web shop]. The CPU now costs 542 EUR, a whole 13 EUR more than at launch two weeks ago.
That could turn into a bonus only if they also sell quantities. At AMD's shop and all German web shops, it's listed as Out of Stock. I have read though that at least Mindfactory keeps shipping presumably small quantities, without ever listing it as in stock.AMD planning a Christmas bonus for their European employees?
Most likely currency changes. It will get worse next year

They keep messing up one way or the other, even when they have the absolute best gaming CPU for probably the next year at the very least. Seems demand is very high in some unspecified region (maybe China?).I don't know why AMD made this a world-wide launch, but then started shipping only to select continents. (Or to one half of a continent?) Well, I guess they have their reasons.
Right, and Hardwareluxx updated their article accordingly, 2 hours after they posted it and 1 hour after VideoCardz had picked it up.Most likely currency changes.

Is anyone else thinking that the 9950X3D will have a slightly better bin and a better boost on the die with the v-cache or something else that makes the performance even better?
There was the leaked Factorio benchmark from a few weeks ago, but that's just as likely the higher core count as anything and not definitive.

I mean: AMD announced "availability" without saying in which parts of the world it will be available. In other words,Obviously limited poduction capabilities of X3D chips, otherwise they woudnt had stopped 5800X3D production all while keeping alive low margins 5700X/5800X.
Well the 5800x3d, 5700x3d and 5600x3d are parts that compete with am5 products like the 7600(x)/7700(x).Obviously limited poduction capabilities of X3D chips, otherwise they woudnt had stopped 5800X3D production all while keeping alive low margins 5700X/5800X.
I mean: AMD announced "availability" without saying in which parts of the world it will be available. In other words,
– they apparently chose to organize shipments of small quantities to select few shops (and most likely mandated maximum sales prices to these shops) to an example region "E" (which could for example be a small peninsula but densely inhabited by comparably rich people with prevalence of a consumerist mindset, that is, a region with potential for many sales). :-)
– That is, they did not choose an alternative such as claiming that availability in example region "E" will be at a specific later date, or remains to be announced later.
Perhaps the former is indeed the better way of marketing, I don't know.
(Personally, I am not in line for a 9800X3D.

The 5700x/5800x do not compete with am5 products.
I just saw some leaks this morning, cant find the ref now, it was Video Cardz I think. Anyway, rumor is the 12 and 16 core skus with have the old vcache configuration, so there may be less overclocking headroom than 9800x3D.Having picked up a cheap gaming TV, I set out to test/use it. 4K everything maxed out FSR 3 Quality+frame generation my 7800X3D was hitting 96% CPU usage in Spiderman MM. 👀 Busy area with the daytime Xmas shopping traffic and crowds. Fast swinging down the streets while the system tries to stream in the assets Oodle Kraken handles on the PS5, along with RT, must have been hammering it. I was averaging over 100fps with highs in the 170s-190s if I got up away from the streets, but crikey that was unexpected. Freesync and frame gen kept it smooth.
This is a daily driver, not a clean testbed. Other launchers and apps in the background, a browser open i.e. the way my system always is. The - we don't need that much CPU for gaming- is not holding up too well with my usage. Stalker 2 also says - Hi, what was that you were saying about overkill CPUs?
The 9800X3D appears to have its job cut out for it. Going to be interesting to see if the 12 or 16 core can steal the crown.

Comments are a salt mine. "No 3D for both CCD= NO SALE!" oklol. That place is like the who's who list of banned trolls from every message board.
Last time 7950X3D' X3D CCD had 200MHz higher freq than 7800X3D iirc. Right know 9800 X3D at 5200 MHz is able to match 9950 CCD at 5700 MHz. It stands to reason that 9950x3D's X3D CCD will also be better binned than 9800X3D. If we assume quite modest 200 MHz higher out of the box clock, it will be able to beat 9950X at 5700MHz. Therefore X3D CCD will be the universally better CCD for majority of applications as the other CCD will likely not exceed 5700MHz out of the box.Well, the debate will likely be the same as before. Why bother if it is the same hassle of core parking/priority issues, xbox game bar requirements etc.? For most people it will be the basic choice of, I need cores/threads over gaming performance so I might as well get the regular 16 core that will be cheaper and still fast enough in gaming. The only people where it really matters are those who one box for whatever reason. Streamers who use one system, maybe that is more effective but for raw game performance the 8 core chip will be equal and cheaper with less hassles on the software side.
Ah, I just wrote this on the speculation thread. That's what I'm thinking too. Through binning and removal of the need to have lower clocks on the cache cc'd this product might work so much better out of the box without as many wonky scheduling conflictsLast time 7950X3D' X3D CCD had 200MHz higher freq than 7800X3D iirc. Now, these are ifs and maybes so we need to wait for reviews, but at least it does seem plausible.
Thanks for the info, but that is not the post I was referring to. It was some X (twitter) post quoted in Videocarz. The post you showed is actually the opposite: it says the CCDs for the Ryzen 9 will have the newer vcache, while the post I saw said the dual CCD models would have the older vcache configuration (as on the 7xxx x3D series)>
