Is there an argument for downloading content and and not just streaming content all the time?

Always preferred local vs streaming; better bitrate, no DRM / Disney "back in the vault" BS, etc.
Pair a ton of local storage (see sig) with Jellyfin, and I'm set

A good 4K stream (Disney+ is probably the better ones) can have ALMOST the same picture quality as a typical 1080p blu-ray. At least the bit rates are comparable. But audio is usually much worse on anything streamed. It is catching up a little. The latest AppleTV box can actually stream 7.1 / Atmos but the mixing on most things streamable is pretty lackluster compared to even playing my 1999 DVD copy of The Matrix with 5.1 DTS

And obviously well mastered 4K Bluray blows anything streaming away.

In my experience streams still consistently fail the “confetti” test anytime there’s lots of sparks or other fine noise on the screen it reverts to looking like an early 2000s DivX video, which can be kind of immersion breaking

The unskippable nonsense that comes is one of the reasons I initially decided to rip my small collection. It's extremely obnoxious to me, as a consumer, when I've actually gone out of the way to buy the damn product.

Is there an argument for downloading content and and not just streaming content all the time?
