I found the wheels I wanted to get for my car, but the site was incorrect and said they'd fit my car and they won't. I looked up info, and what I read was all over the place.
I have a car with a STUPID 5x110 bolt pattern, the selection of wheels for it are bad, there are a good number but all the nice looking ones are not 5x110. The ones I found are 5x112. I understand enough here to know redrilling isn't optimum. There's a few shops locally that do it, I can't call and ask them because of course they'll tell me it's good since it's what they do.
I'm looking at some Rotiform wheels and the only way to get them on my car is.
1. Adapter - NO WAY IN HELL
2. Wobble Bolts - The name alone makes me anxious. Opinions on Reddit are either "they work well" or "you will wind up dead don't do it!"
3. Redrilling - Opinions on Reddit go from "do it" to "will weaken the wheel and there's a good chance it will fly off while you're driving and you will die on the freeway bro"
Most of the threads I was reading sound like people who knew about as much as me, but spoke as if they were actually educated on this subject lol.
I have a 07 Sky Redline, so it's a smaller 2 door roadster. I understand the right way to go here would be to find 5x110 wheels and do it how you're supposed to. If I take the wheels to a reputable shop that CNCs the proper holes and uses inserts to do whatever they do for the other holes. Will this make my automobile a 4 wheel death trap? I feel like the "it'll be fine" and "bolt will sheer off and the wheel will fly off while on the freeway" Reddit comments are not from people who should be giving advice lol. I know the names here so I can have faith in what I read. On a 1-10 scale, where would redrilling fall? I really want to get these wheels, like really really. But, I don't want to FAFO and end up in a wheel chair because I want my car to look nicer.
