Currently have 3 androids, one activated, a Samsung S9, which has Bluetooth 5.0. Am scheduled in 9 days to get my 1st hearing aids fitted, Rexton Reach. To get decent streaming into those HAs I'll need a phone with at least Bluetooth 5.2, which supports LE Audio. Looking around a bit, I figure the Pixels make sense for me because of the 7 year support. My Samsung S9 is limited to Android 10, for instance.
Does the Pixel 8 make the most sense for me?
I don't currently do a lot of calling, so the nuances of hands free calling aren't something I'm focusing on. I figure get Bluetooth 5.3. The Pixel 8a has that but won't get Auracast, which is a thing going forward. I don't know how or if I'll utilize that, but figure I ought to get that in a phone I'll keep for 6 years or so, and the Pixel 8 has that (with an update).
Size I don't require, I mean a big screen. Camera, I haven't been utilizing because my Windows laptops don't even see any of my Android phones so if I want to save a JPG to my NAS I need to email it to myself, AFAIK! I figure to upgrade my 2 Lenovo P1 laptops (1st Gen and 3rd Gen) to Windows 11 soon in hopes to fix that issue with seeing my phones and also to get LE Audio support.
OK, so is the Pixel 8 the way to go? I figure there might well be options that make more sense for me. I'm not used to carrying a turned on phone in my pocket but from now on, probably will/should because I'll want the phone app available for my new HAs. Thanks for thoughts, suggestions!
