Not really sure where to post this. My newly built PC once it goes into sleep mode won't come out of it and gives me a no signal detected for display mode port.

There's no other cable attached from the PC to monitor except the display port one. I can reboot 4-5x after not getting a display and still get nothing. The only way for me to remedy it is to power down, switch off PSU, unplug PSU and display cable. Wait half a minute, plug everything back in and it's boots up fine.

Windows 11 Pro
ASRock B650E PG-ITX
AMD 7 9800X3D
AMD Radeon RX 7900 XTX
Samsung Odyssey G95NC

I looked over my power settings and BIOS and don't really see anything wrong. Thanks for the help!

For what its worth a lot of posts on the internet say the Samsung Odyssey has problems waking from sleep. Some fixes include:
-disabling gsync/adaptive sync and making the monitor sleep before windows
-disabling dynamic contrast in the monitor
-forcing the gpu to scale instead of the monitor

You could also try using HDMI or updating the firmware.

When you say it won't come out of sleep mode, do you mean that it carries on being in sleep mode, or it attempts to resume, appropriate fans/LEDs come on, but no display? If the latter, do you get a keyboard light response (e.g. caps lock)?

Which PSU? Is it new?

If it is the latter scenario, I would also try updating the BIOS + display drivers in particular. Also check the event log for any warnings/errors during sleep/resume.

Thanks! I wasn’t aware of possible monitor issues and didn’t even think about changing which device sleeps first. I’ll give those a try. If the thing wasn’t so heavy I’d throw it out the window

I’ll have to check when I get home. It goes to sleep, both monitor and computer. When I tap a key or move the mouse I can see the PC boot up and hear it. The monitor has power, but it says no signal from the display port. It also only has one display port. So I can’t really see if the computer is fully booting up but it seems like it is. I guess I could try attaching another monitor to hdmi to see if anything changes. I’ve tried waiting a few mins and typing in my passcode but that hasn’t made anything happen.

I don’t recall if there’s any light activity on the KB. I had to update BIOS to get that CPU to work and the GPU drivers are updated. I even updated the monitor firmware.

It’s a new Seasonic PSU, but I don’t know all the specs. It does have a weird hybrid button on it that I haven’t fiddled with. Not sure if that would be an issue.

What’s really kind of weird is it has a menu paddle and when I try waking it up/trying to display anything pretty much all the options are greyed out. Like you can’t switch to HDMI or change refresh rates or gaming modes. I tried looking that up but found nothing.

This does sound monitor specific. I have a very similar setup; ASRock board, 7800X3D, 7900XTX, with a gaming TV and no issues coming out of sleep mode. The only advice I can think to offer is to disable the iGPU in the bios and see if that has any effect.

Thanks! That's the only thing I haven't tried so far and everything I've tried hasn't worked. It's super annoying spending 10-15 minutes trying to get the monitor to turn on.

I also tried using my old PC and it does the same thing with not wanting to wake up.

The hybrid button makes the PSU go into fanless mode for low loads and only runs the fan under higher loads. I have mine enabled.

If you hear the fans running but no display, try to restart the video driver (i.e. hold down Shift-CTRL-Windows Key-B simultaneously) to see if it does anything.

Also, if the monitor is set to auto-select the display signal source, you might try setting the monitor to default to the same output that your computer uses to connect to it.
