Leon is almost done building a Tesla lithium processing plant outside Corpus Christi, Texas, that will require about 8 million gallons of fresh water a day, in a drought-plagued region where they ration water for kids to take showers before high-school football games.

So where’s his next plant? Outside of Phoenix? Bakersfield? Wait! ...Greenland. They’ve got LOTS of water, right? Sometimes we are the stupidest fucking species on the planet.

It can be done if you are smart about it. Look at the Palo Verde Nuclear Power Plant outside of Phoenix. It uses around 50M+ Gallons of water a day for cooling, but the water is treated sewage from nearby communities. It would be smart for Tesla to do something similar. The US needs Lithium processing plants in the US if we are going to continue to manufacture and sell EV's.

Why are people so fascinated Musk's video games abilities or lack of?
Because it just goes to the heart that he's a chronic liar and faker. If he lies about these really trivial things, what else is he lying about?

A lot of people aren't so politically tuned in, so these other avenues are good to harness for getting messages across. In the current, fractured media environment, you need to play to the audience and their channels.

What happens to the water after it has cooled the reactor? Where does those millions of gallons end up at? Turns into steam and water vapors?
That 8 MM Gallons is the flow rate through a cooling water system. Most of it is reused.

The cooling water is usually just warm after it leaves a heat exchanger (It's not really hot like steam). That warm water is dribbled down a Cooling Tower where air is blown up through the water. This evaporates some of the water and cools the rest of the water back down, and most of it it is sent back to the heat exchanger. The evaporated water vapors go to the atmosphere and must be replaced, but it's not 8 million gallons per day being lost. The cooling water make up rate to replace what is lost due to evaporation is what you want to look at.

The cooling water can be cooled back down by running it through pipes in the ground, and there is no loss of water that way. That is much more expensive to build, though, and after listening to a coworker talk about Tesla plants, Leon will take the cheap route.

The Corpus Christi water supply is from surface reservoirs that are drying up due to drought. The city is drilling water wells that will be able to supply water for the city. It doesn't saam like there is a lack of water, but rather a lack of infrastructure to get it out of the ground. Wells cost more than just draining water from a lake, so the good people of Corpus Christi will need to pay more for their water, but they won't run out.

Is the water contaminated at all or is like a cooling system in a car?

Didn't Grimes just confirm that he wasn't lying about his gaming abilities?

Personally I don't care, it's just more about watching the world's richest man be so desperate for approval that it's just pathetic. Like Zuck going on about masculine energy and wearing a big ass gold chain.

Yeah, exactly, it's just so...undignified. You never got Rupert Murdoch bragging about his skill at darts, say. Did Andrew Carnegie or John Rockerfeller get into endless exchanges of letters in the newspapers boasting about their brilliance at croquet?

Its also just a giant hook for a manipulator to grasp onto. Show me what you want what you need and Ill sell you the world.

Anybody taking odds that Elmo holds the Trump bible instead of Melania during the swearing in?

If you do unbalanced heat rejection into the ground it'll slowly gain temperature and become less and less effective.ground source heat pumps attempt to balance the heating and cooling loads for this reason. Of course soil conditions have a lot to do with how while is dissipates the heat. But it would require a lot of bore holes to dump that much heat.

Also ground water doesn't come from no where, it comes from thousands of years of rain soaking into the ground. Shifting from surface water to wells didn't cure the problem, it just means they are withdrawing from their savings account that they can't replenish.

Well, there's also another source.
