Not a fan of 18 games, but sounds like it's going to happen:
If nothing else, they should have two bye weeks and half the teams should be off on week A and the other half week B and then they flip the next season.
The NFL is about the only sure thing on TV (+streaming) these days, so it's a no-brainer for them to add an 18th game. Players will grumble that safety is sacrificed, but they will accept the higher payouts.
(Similar deal in the NBA, which isn't even must-see TV. Everyone knows that 82 games is too many, but nobody wants to give up 10% and reduce inventory. They even had to reject TNT in order to take Amazon as the new broadcast partner.)
Lines for the conference championships:
Eagles -5
Chiefs -1.5
I'll never bet against Mahomes, but the Chiefs seem a bit vulnerable this year. It's arguably Josh Allen's best chance to get over the hump, aside from 13 miserable seconds.
Final 4 SB winner odds:
Eagles +180
Chiefs +240
Bills +250
Commanders +700
