In other news, Amazon workers went on strike today, and in support of Amazon, the cops busted up the picket line and set up barriers so contractor workers could go in and do the job.

Fuck the cops and fuck Eric Adams yet again. The oligarchy is proceeding as planned.

I can get behind blocking the CR. Why should my tax money go to disaster victims and farmers in crap red states? Why should it go to a stadium for the Washington commanders? E15 fuel … no. Give the people what they voted for, which is not spending federal money in their districts.
This is part of the problem.

Elon Musk tweeted something about the RFK site for the Commanders and it was 100% incorrect.

There was ABSOLUTELY ZERO DOLLARS allocated towards a new Commanders stadium in the original bill. NOTHING AT ALL.

All it talked about was giving the control of the land that it currently sits on to DC instead of being in Federal control.

And now because of dumb ass Musk there is nothing in the new bill in regards to it.

This has been a big deal the past 24 hours from a high of high to a low of low for people in the DMV.

This was his play with China who promised to make giant AG purchases and ended up doing basically none of it then went to Brazil and funded the development of a new major competitor to US AG. Anyway the contracts especially on natural gas are like a decade and a half long and the western EU is in a gas glut to such an extent they are deferring contracted deliveries of LNG.

EU retaliation will certainly hurt the US and could trigger cancellation of tens of billions in military contracts.

With China's dropping population.. they're going to need a lot less and less of the AG products going forward.. and they might totally cut out US for Brazil. Talk about shooting yourself in the foot and yet the dum dum farmers voted for this.

Pretty much like those same farmers voting for him despite the workers deportation fears.

Most of our managers spent the day throwing together the list of programs and people that will still be required to be supported and who will be furloughed.

As a reminder civil servants won’t be paid during a shutdown regardless of whether they are required to work but will receive back pay regardless of whether they worked or not.
I would be very reluctant to take any federal job after I’ve seen the last 15 years or so.

I know making the federal government a bad place to work is a feature and not a bug for republicans but it’s still a really stupid feature.

Perhaps somebody should remind Trump that the military goes unpaid during this...
I remember during the last Trump induced shut down a woman I worked with had a food drive for her daughter's Coast Guard unit. In addition to canned goods, she was also taking personal items like toilet paper and toothpaste.

Yeah I remember that. This was the longest shutdown in US history (for now anyway).

With Trump tariffs and corporate tax cuts, how much will inflation be? 8% or more?

I wonder how even a poorly educated MAGA could look at that food import poster and not understand how fucked we're gonna be. I would love for everything I buy to be American made/grown. That's not realistic though. I also would love it not cost me $20 to buy shit to make a salad.

We're far from rich, and we do our best to NOT buy produce from Mexico...dismal health and food safety laws...or Chile...or any other country south of the border. Sometimes we have no option...so we grin and bear it, but not without me bitching the whole time.

With Trump tariffs and corporate tax cuts, how much will inflation be? 8% or more?

Silly librul...tariffs don't cause inflation, donch know?

He loves to bully people, I laugh every time I think that his wife's 1 contribution while 1st lady was her anti-bullying campaign. I really believe this idiot doesn't have a solid grasp of tariffs and how they actually work. And if he ends up tariffing the rest of the planet to show them who's boss. It's not gonna end well for anyone on the planet. I look forward to paying $50 to buy the shit to make a simple breakfast of eggs, bacon and maybe 1 slice of toast.

About to get more expensive if the RFK Jrs also move to reduce the reliance on chemical fertilizers. Say hello to reduced crop yields and higher production costs.

Bottom line is the producer country doesn't pay shit. Guess who pays then.

I don't understand something.. if you really want to not use 1 country's exports.. why only tariff it 25 or 50%. Why not 10 million %?

Could it be because he actually wants to sell Trump made in China watches?

Yesterday Gas was $4.29, up from $3.99. Yesterday eggs were $7.49 at ALDIS. Not Cage Free Organic brown eggs either. Plain ass regular white eggs. AT ALDIS. I can't even imagine how much they are at Pavilions. $10 for eggs at Ralphs, the basic ones. The 18 pack was I think $14, isn't that lovely? At this rate I won't even be able to afford to shop at Aldis much longer, then what? LOL.

I laugh because if I don't I'll probably cry. And I understand I can't blame Trump for the Bird Flu, but sheieieieieit with that + all his soon to come tariffs and other bullshit, fuck him for the egg prices.
