Question Why is my friends internet so slow on my network?

I live in a Class C motorhome and have approx. 400+mbps internet. My router supports up to gigabit internet and for me I get the full 400mbps to my desktop hardwired in. My friend lives in a 5th wheel RV and has a Cat 6 cable that is 100 ft long going to his RV from my router and he has the same router but he is only able to get 100mbps top speed and he has a new laptop and even if he tries to go wireless on my router he still can't get over 100mbps. I'm stumped on what is possibly causing him to be so limited?

What router is it? Some gigabit wireless routers only have 100mbps ethernet ports. At further ranges and through walls, 100 mbps wireless is pretty normal.

Clue is the laptop being the issue. wire/less being the same speed means there's an issue with the laptop.

He is still hardwired into my router with a Cat 6 cable that is 100 ft (I know there is a little drop off) but still going to the same router that is hardwired into his PC (though the desktop is an i5 3570 and the built in network in the motherboard might only be 100Mbps at that age) but still he is close enough that he can use his 4 month old new laptop on my network and never get above 100Mbps?)

I'm hardwired in on my desktop (AM4 mobo/5600X) and get a little over 400Mbps.

Check the cable terminations, if some wires are not crimped/punched down right, it might be negotiating at only 10/100 instead of gig.

Also if he also has a router, he might be double NATd. Which can be a non issue, but also very problematic.

GigE has been around for a very long time. I'd be surprised if his desktop doesn't have GigE.

The first thing you want to do here is establish a baseline test. What happens with his laptop when he's sitting in your motorhome? First connect with a 7ft patch cable. You can also test WiFi speed, but this is less relevant since the throughput is going to drop at a far distance. But before figuring out exactly what's wrong, you need to first see everything working under the best-case scenario.
