With the GFX940 patches in full swing since first week of March, it is looking like MI300 is not far in the distant future!
Usually AMD takes around 3Qs to get the support in LLVM and amdgpu. Lately, since RDNA2 the window they push to add support for new devices is much reduced to prevent leaks.
But looking at the flurry of code in LLVM, it is a lot of commits. Maybe because US Govt is starting to prepare the SW environment for El Capitan (Maybe to avoid slow bring up situation like Frontier for example)

See here for the GFX940 specific commits
Or Phoronix

There is a lot more if you know whom to follow in LLVM review chains (before getting merged to github), but I am not going to link AMD employees.

I am starting to think MI300 will launch around the same time like Hopper probably only a couple of months later!
Although I believe Hopper had problems not having a host CPU capable of doing PCIe 5 in the very near future therefore it might have gotten pushed back a bit until SPR and Genoa arrives later in 2022.
If PVC slips again I believe MI300 could launch before it

This is nuts, MI100/200/300 cadence is impressive.

YOU know. you, the tech nerd. GPU launches aren't for nerds.

Just like it's really only nerds hanging on baited breath for reviews.

If the 9070/XT ship earlier it's starts selling earlier with less competition.

However much you want to argue some people will wait, a significant non-ZERO number of people will buy 9070/XT cards if they were here...

Waiting only results in those lost sales.

Well if fabio from asian gameplays is saying dlss4 is great its over...
If FSR4 does not remove taa ghosting like dlss4 trans does then its truly over.
He swung me to the green side first time since 8800GT... If amd does not come out this week with something its bad... Ppl already lost intrest reddit had like 5-7posts today before it was 10s of thousands.

He's mixing everything up together, talking Ray Reconstruction, and calling it TAA motion blur, when he has DLSS on.

IOW he has no clue what he's talking about.

If any form DLSS is on, TAA is off. DLSS replaces TAA.

The big ghosting issue that solved is with Ray Reconstruction, which is why you see the original DF video showing extreme Ray Reconstruction ghosting, and that being fixed.

Regular DLSS 3.7 does not ghost anything like Ray Reconstruction.

I'll wait for someone that has better understanding, and add this guy to Blocktube where he belongs.

Also this is not night and day better, it actually has a more motion shimmer artifacts which are more annoying to me than a bit of softness.

DLSS is TAA. It goes from using the in-game implementation to the NV implementation. This is often why DLSS can be better than native as the NV TAA algorithm is vastly superior to 95% of in game algorithms. That is why I say if you are going to do native Vs DLSS the actual fair comparison is DLAA Vs DLSS since it normalises the TAA algorithm used and allows direct comparison between an upscaled image Vs a native resolution image.

So to say TAA is off when DLSS is on is not entirely correct because DLSS uses it's own TAA.

If by N4C you mean the cheaper version of the N4 process node and not a different Navi GPU, you have some chance

Hmm, N4C sounds somewhat credible (as process node )

AMD mentioned, RDNA4 was designed for optimized cost. N4C could be a part of it, indeed. But a one part of N4C cost reduction comes from Die size reduction and the area seems to be somewhat big.

Nah man you dont get where im coming from. Testing and naming aside. If he did not find anything wrong with it to nit pick there is nothing to find.

Including 20% VAT a 7900XT is about 720-750€ in France, germans have lower prices generaly and a comparable VAT, so i dont know what this guy is talking about with his VAT less 899$ price tag unless he s used to scamm his clients.

Beside it s not all to display the card in a screen, the box he s displaying is not referenced, that could be a 7800XT from Powercolor and we wouldnt know.

Anyway no serious retailer would do such statements publicly with his identity known,
look more like viral marketing than anything else.

Edit : Here what Powercolor s 9070XT box look like, seems that Videocardz didnt even compare this anonymous box to their own previous infos :

ehhh this launch is a bad. One of the worst. Your product is ready then launch it or its not keep quiet and launch in March. oh FSR4 isnt't ready then why announce it??

Not enough FSR3.1 games, ok then maybe you should worked with your sponsered studios earlier, total mismanagement. This is isn't just AMD doing this, most of the tech industry sucks right now

Are there loads of people in the year 2025 buying $600+ GPUs with intention for building PCs for gaming-primary purposes that aren't at least tech nerd-adjacent?

Also, from the Videocardz retailer video..

The delay of the 9070XT and 9070 has created uncertainty, these cards were expected to launch at prices significantly higher than the RX 7800 XT and close to the RX 7900 XT, which makes little sense. For example, the RX 9070 XT was rumored to cost 500BGN more than RX 7900 XT while only offering marginally more performance. The pricing strategy was a clear mistake.
Really doesn't seem like the delay is to raise prices...

Yeah, closer to the 7900xt for pricing? Odd. Maybe they did expect the 5070ti to be 799?
If AMD really priced N48 too high, the only explanation would be if they expected BW prices to be like

- 1199-1299$ 5080
- 899-999$ 5070Ti
- 599-649$ 5070

Makes no sense otherwise, because the performance of Blackwell really shouldn't be exceeding AMD's predictions (the opposite, in fact).

Those Blackwell prices might be accurate if rumors of extremely limited FE supply and no margin for AIBs at MSRP are true.
