What exactly do you think they can do when they have no meaningful power in any sector of the federal government now since the wolf was put in charge of the hen house and every branch of government. With a President who has full immunity and will ignore congress if they go against him?
You Vichy Democrat apologists are always showing how feckless you are.

No its fine.

Have a backup place you can go to.
Have a daypack. (water + meal preps)
Cash.
Have a backup of your passport.
Learn to hunt (so you can feed your family).
Self defense stuff.

I am just saying that at the current pace of stuff you dont actually know where the crazy ends. It may end at a really fucked up place. So. I would prep at least the basics.

Sadly where I live.. you can't hunt for food unless you want to hunt people and eat them.

I'm hoping it doesn't come to that but I'm living in reality here that in NYC there's 30,000 people per square mile and nowhere close to that amount of animals.

LOL you're the fucking traitor and you're calling him a vichy dem??

Can't believe you actually have me defending someone I disagree with often here.. but yeah here we are.. @NWRMidnight actually has a better grasp on reality than you do.

You are somehow wanting to use photon torpedos and ion cannons to stop Trump from going into hyperspace.

Compared to the threat you are facing your squabbles is of minute nature. Cut it the fuck out. This is not the time to be bickering.

On a different note, I do think this will turn to war, but not over the hotspots currently in focus, it will be over robber barons who cant agree who gets to rob what resources. (on a global scale).
The 2024 election turned sour because people are already hurting and on the ropes.
Further pain will not be resolved any other way.

Puhleeze. Americans, in aggregate, were doing quite well. They have just poisoned themselves in a toxic, asymmetric media environment and ended up electing a death cult.
Look, a Biden Stan that cost us this entire election chimes in.

Go fuck off already. You people got us to this spot. Now kindly fuck off and let's take care of this. You are feckless failures.

You got us here and continue to play the same cards. Get the fuck out of the way. You are literally the problem.
Yes, I'm the problem. Maybe you need your eyes checked and some therapy because you've clearly lost sight of the problem being Republicans tearing down the country; and you just want to yell at everyone for not trying to fix it exactly your way.

Least common denominator of all his posts:

It's always everyone elses fault but his.

in short.. He's basically a mini trump narcissicist vying for attention at a time when we're trying to keep our wits and our sanity.

You are a joke. One can accept the evil of the Republicans but also see the feckless ineptitude of the opposition.

You are part of the old guard thinking that has failed us miserably. Get out of the way. You fucked us

One of the most powerful Democrats in office right now, as the federal government and constitution are being ransacked

It sucks for the Dems because while neither party can afford to alienate the powerful billionaire mega donors that are primarily responsible for government dysfunction as a result of Citizens United, Trump at least had a bogeyman to scapegoat in their place for the nations woes in the form of immigrants and trans people. The Dems didn't come up with their own scapegoat or narrative and ran on nothing. And the only candidates that have an honest narrative that could save them like Sanders get nuked from orbit by the establishment.

Imagine if they found a way to gain votes and power without the money of billionaires.

Where are our leaders?

Completely rudderless right now. The only one speaking out (AOC) is being quietly hushed aside by the establishment.

What will the government look like in 4 more weeks, much less 4 years?

Feels dystopian.

You have a few stars, like this here Miss Crockett. But they are not part of the mainstream Dem establishment who shun them all.

Unfortunately due to sexism and racism in this country, we are gonna need a young white male Dem to step up, like a younger Bernie, but we ain't got shit.

@ondma any thoughts on this guy, being from MN?

Also seems like Dems appointed someone from their activist ranks as Vice Chair (Davis Hogg)...cool, any experience winning elections? No? Then he should fit right in.

I'm so glad Joe Biden had tea with Trump at the White House and welcome to him home. And Obama and Hillary and Bill went to the inauguration. What a bunch of fucking fools. They are literally fucking clueless all of them.

I said it then and I'll say it again how could you go to this sham of an inauguration of this fucking horrible man, a complete farce of a day. It's just obscene. Because it was obvious what was going to happen.

No one of the Democratic party has no idea how to respond. The elders are fools. And they showed it two weeks ago.

Not sure what connection Hogg has to MN, if I am understanding you correctly. I have heard him speak, I think it was on the View or something. He speaks well and intelligently, and seems knowledgeable. He will have to broaden his appeal to more than just an anti-gun activist if he is to be successful in national politics. The right wing is already starting to attack him, so they must think he is some sort of threat.

Edit: Sorry, you must be talking about Ken Martin. To be honest, I have not heard of him before. Although, it offends a lot of people on this forum, the Dem party in Minnesota has gone too far left for my taste, but specifically I do not know Martin's personal views. We are one of the highest taxed states in the nation, and the Dem trifecta blew a 17B surplus and increased the state budget ~40% in one session last year. Unsurprisingly, (who would have though it when you increased the budget 40%), we are projecting a possible deficit within a year or two.

Right now though, state politics is a s**t show. Since the Dems no longer have a trifecta, they want to take their football and go home. There is conflict over some seats in the MN House, so the Dems will not show up for work in order to prevent a Quorum being present. Thus the Reps are powerless to pass any legislation or elect a speaker. (Because of the disputed seats the Dems dont have a Quorum either.) The Reps are no better, trying to block the Dems from obtaining a disputed seat, and going to court to try to change the rules of what constitutes a qorum. Right now, I wish we could recall all house legislators of both parties, kick them out, and elect an entirely new legislature, with incumbents not eligible.

You and I are 100% opposed in the direction as to where we think the Dem party has to go to become successful, but there is one thing I have come to agree with you about. I am totally shocked by the lack of any effective response to Trump's blatantly illegal and/or unconstitutional appointments and executive orders, like appointing Musk without any confirmation, threatening to fire govt employees without any due Civil Service process, trying to overturn the 14th amendment by executive order, and trying to block already approved federal spending, to name only a few. The Dem leadership is not only gutless, but politically inept. I am also shocked at the lack of resistance/protests from the general population and news media. I am beginning to think the only thing that will be effective against Trump is large scale civil and economic protests across a wide cross section of the population. I dont mean to de-legitimize the George Floyd murder and the subsequent protests, but there was a nationwide reaction of protest for an extended period of time to that. In its own way, IMO, what Trump is doing to the country is far more destructive than even the George Floyd atrocity. And what do we hear in protest? Crickets.
