I never had a chance to use the zip system. It wasn't readily available where I was working and didn't tie in with the existing 60 year old tar paper on most of my projects very well. It's a shame I'll be dead before the long term reviews come in.The zip sheathing is all taped and ready for windows, doors, siding.

I picked up all the flashing metals yesterday and we have the fascia and drip edge on, ready for the roof metal on Thursday. That is the roof color there.

No painting that or the barge boards, ever.
4+ acres. Our own private park in the outskirts.Exactly how much land is your home sitting on? I see housing developments in your pics on little lots.
OK, I guess that makes sense. I'm not a home builder, so my experience is very limited. I used Tyvek when I build my garage about 10 years ago...but that was a single story.a preference.
The cost is similar, but wrapping a two story over a basement excavation is really a PITA, compared to taping seams after the nailing inspection.
Zip sheathing gets you water tight quickly. With regular OSB or plywood you have to install whatever barrier your using to make it water proof. With some of those you risk them blowing of in the wind.OK, I guess that makes sense. I'm not a home builder, so my experience is very limited. You don't own magnetic boots?Mother nature has other ideas. We'll install windows while we wait for the snow to quit falling.

temps are below freezing every morning and I have no plans on skating down an icy metal roof.
You got a helluva lot more of that nasty white stuff than we did here.Mother nature has other ideas. We'll install windows while we wait for the snow to quit falling.

Yes you do, you just don't know it. Every home built is a series of compromises, it's a very nice thing to be able to decide what those compromises will be, and lay the ground work for things you might want in the future.Wow....I've been following this from the beginning and one thing is for sure....I don't ever want to build a house.
No way bro. He has just posted pics of the shell. You have been in the game long enough to know that finishing the inside is the real pain in the ass.Yes you do, you just don't know it. It's just planning and work, same as the shell. No way bro. He has just posted pics of the shell. You have been in the game long enough to know that finishing the inside is the real pain in the ass.
That's not bad.temps are below freezing every morning and I have no plans on skating down an icy metal roof.
