The animals have restored the ecosystem of the park, which they have been working on for more than 7 years.
Beavers in the Czech Republic built several dams in a landscape park in the protected area of Brdy in two days, which were going to be installed by local authorities. Thus, the animals saved the authorities up to 121 million rubles, which would have been spent on obtaining permits, building and developing the project itself. This is reported by the Czech TV channel CT24.

It is noted that the beavers chose the ideal place for the construction of dams and built it within two days. Although negotiations on restoring the natural character of wetlands with the Czech authorities lasted seven years.

Now, thanks to the work of mammals and the restored ecosystem of the park, favorable conditions will be created here for all inhabitants of wetlands, environmentalists added.
Earlier, four settlements in the Leningrad Region were left without electricity due to a dam built by beavers. The rodents tore down trees that had damaged power lines during the fall.

Good it apparently worked out for them, but let's be real, this wasn't a priority project and there's reasons such bureaucracy and regulations exists, so that some shithead doesn't just start doing random crazy shit like dumping their garbage there or building a dam that might be prone to failure causing problems. Its not like there aren't downsides to beavers doing stuff either, they can actually destroy dams and cause flooding and other.

On the other hand, their activities are contrary to human interests elsewhere. For example, in the vicinity of Lanškroun in the Orlickoústecký region, beavers caused flooding of fields and waterlogging of the railway line.

"The state is trying to help farmers - damages caused by beavers to permanent crops or field crops are reimbursed. It is also possible to obtain a subsidy for repairing a dam damaged by beaver burrows from the Operational Programme Environment," added Šůlová.

Year or two ago, when there was flooding in Russia, these citizens in one town took things into their own hands and created a dam, or earthworks anyway, to shield their properties from the flood. However, the government found out . . . (uh oh) . . .and punished them for it! Maybe for construction without a license? IDK
Anyway I was appalled.
Forget the punishment . . . 🤔 ?

A few years ago a tree fell across my creek. The tree created a dam and rerouted the creek backwards towards the highway. It ended up going so far that it started to eat away at the road base. Now every year the county has to come out and repair the earthwork and repave the road that is sinking.
I talked to the road crew and asked why they didnt just remove the tree trunk and move the flow back to its original channel. Was told they arnt allowed to mess with its natural flow.
So we are now on the hook for $50k repair every single year due to a dead tree and some crazy rules.

At this point there is so much soil pushed up against the tree, i doubt removing it would make it go back to its original channel. Probably needs a little work from a backhoe.
