Unfortunately cutting off Google would be virtually impossible. Can probably cut back a little bit, but it's fully integrated in just functioning.

I can never use Google pay though online. And avoid it in person too.

Not switching to Apple and they kiss the ring too they donated to Trump's inauguration.

Ah, the Twitter/X naming bullshit has escaped it's holding cell and is infecting the rest of reality now.

Fuck MAGA.. leave Google alone.

They're doing what they have to in order to survive. And so would we..
The Terror in the French Revolution begs to differ.
If our people so want it, we can all burn together.

Would not a rose by any other name be as indifferent? My life is uneffected by clown acts far away. Trumps madness isn’t worth a dime of attention. He just wants attention by sticking his fingers up his ass and shoving them in your face. I’ve chested a lot of toilets. Nobodies are hard to disgust.

Are there any good mapping/navigation alternatives to Google maps?
Organic Maps

OsmAnd

Organic is easier, and handles addresses better. OsmAnd is more fully featured, worse on addresses. Neither is as "good" as google, cause neither spy on you or show ads. If you can read a paper map, and don't need your hand held, both will get you where you want to go. It's up to you to find places to eat, watch for speed traps, or whatever extras you want. Both use openstreetmap as a base, and it's understood to have better offroad "extras" than google. eg hiking trails and such. You can also download maps to your device, so all you need is sky access to navigate. No network.

My recommendation is Organic. Wouldn't hurt to have both. I have both. I also contribute to openstreetmap, but I've been slacking on that.

edit:
There's also StreetComplete to help flesh out the maps. Provides quests to get the low hanging fruit anyone can do without special skill or knowledge. Requires an account at openstreetmap for editing. Help make the world better instead of shittier.

Oh bullshit. They are big enough where they don't have to stick their tongue up Trump's ass.
They want those sweet government contracts. They saw what happened to Amazon in Trump 1. And now that Trump 2 is removing all the corruption guardrails, it's going to be corruption on steroids. I bet Greenman and PCGeek are thrilled to be getting what they voted for for years.

Considering how Trump can legally do whatever he likes and even if the law wasn't there to back him up it soon would be, it seems to me that Google has the choice of resisting by lawful means and maybe get in a long and expensive legal battle with us.gov that in any case they would logically lose... or they can rename a patch of water to 'Gulf of America', it's a corporate no-brainer isn't it?

There may be a hill that Google would choose to win or die on (if in fact there are any at all in Google's opinion), but of all the causes they could choose this seems like the most pathetic one. RWM would line up behind Trump and accuse Google of dragging the gov into a long and expensive taxpayer-funded legal battle for no good reason. They would stand no chance of swaying public opinion in their favour over this.

As much as I detest the idea of anyone kowtowing to the childish whims of a bigoted demented de-facto dictator, it's easy to see why Google has done this: When you have everything to lose, choose the fights that you have a chance of winning, and for winning to be worth a shit. Manbaby wants a patch of water to be renamed. Who gives a shit.

Maybe if this had happened near an upcoming election and RWM's support for Trump was already wavering, then maybe it would have been the right time and place, with RWM ready to put out lots of articles that it is in fact Trump wasting taxpayer resources with childish stupidity, then maybe Google could turn the situation against Trump.
