Which laptop should I buy I'm lost.

People keep telling me to buy a MacBook while others tell me to buy a windows laptop so I don't know what to do.

But I need something for heavy 4k video editing with heavy effects such as turning some videos into cinematic look (davince resolve) and I also want to do picture editing (photopea) and I also want use use streamlabs with a 4k webcam.

Can anyone help please.

Why a laptop rather than a desktop?

If you need portability and battery life an M-series Apple is hard to beat.
If you don't need portability get a desktop.
If you need some portability but you don't care so much about battery life a tricked out Windows laptop will beat an Apple in raw performance.

What is your experience base? If you prefer one over the other just get what you are comfortable with.

Personally I struggle trying to get an Apple to do what I want it to do but that is me. If I wanted portability and long battery life I'd learn to live with an Apple but I'm always near a plug so I don't care about battery life, but that is me, you do you.

I'm not comfortable with apple and I don't care for battery life and I also need it for school since I'm gonna take photography class

Well if you're not looking to get comfortable with Apple, don't buy it. Stick with what you know. That being said, does your photography class have an Apple requirement? Hopefully not since most of the software is MAC/PC compatible.

I've been digging around for a swap on my current one and came across this one. For me it hits all of the boxes and isn't a brand I'm avoiding due to QA issues or higher prices. My main goal though is to get away from Intel based gear though.

This should suffice though as well for being able to knock out your photo stuff or anything you throw at it.

Do you have a reference system that you are currently using to do these things? It helps if we could know what you are moving from. See this article from Puget Systems which builds workstations specifically for running DaVinci Resolve. Note Quick Sync on Intel 11th gen and later has better coverage of H265 profiles than even NVIDIA or AMD. Next best is NVIDIA. They have a lengthy discussion on broad hardware recommendation from Puget Systems with benchmarking.
