And then Hochul should fire Adams, now that the DOJ is temporarily done making a mockery of themselves.
New York Times front page article saying it's possible the judge will refuse DOJ's request to drop charges.
This link is paywall penetrating for 14 days, i.e. until Feb. 28, 2025:
Judges Generally Let Prosecutors Drop Charges. Maybe Not for Adams.
Judge Dale E. Ho will weigh the request after the resignation of Manhattan’s U.S. attorney and her accusations of misconduct.www.nytimes.com
Stay safe.Going to a protest on Monday at Union Square in the city. It's against all of this shit - Trump, Musk, Adams.
It's gonna feel great to protest against all this shit, including being around lots of decent like-minded people that also hate evilStay safe.
The inability committee seems unlikely to remove him as you need 4 out of 5 people to vote in favor, one of which is chosen by Adams himself, and where only 2 of the 4 have expressed any interest in this at all. It's happening!!!!! The process of removal could begin by the other less known secondary method to remove mayor Adams. This method does not involve any input from Hochul. However, for Adams to officially be removed it would require that Adams does not submit a contingency plan by February 21st, the removal process will start at full speed.
For those who do not know the "Inability Committee" is the other method of removing the mayor.Loading…

The governor is the way to do this. All this is likely to do is increase pressure on her.
I know it's the reflection, but the image makes Adams look as if he is as old as Biden with Grey hair.

Oh, I thought it was just old Uncle Remis, or Ben (rice).Pretty sure he's supposed to be Samuel L. Jackson's character from Django Unchained.

Seems pretty likely it gets dismissed anyway as the standard for a judge continuing a prosecution the state doesn't want to do is very high but if one is going to meet that standard it should be this one as the deal is manifestly, obviously corrupt.Judge refuses to dismiss the charges until he gets some answers, and has appointed a well-respected conservative former solicitor general to review the arguments.
Yes. But also, I'd like to see Bove twist in the wind and potentially face sanctions. Then have the case dismissed, and Adams removed from his mayorship (maybe timed so that there doesn't have to be a special election where Cuomo can slip in on his name recognition).Seems pretty likely it gets dismissed anyway as the standard for a judge continuing a prosecution the state doesn't want to do is very high but if one is going to meet that standard it should be this one as the deal is manifestly, obviously corrupt.
It's a tough choice. I hate Cuomo so I definitely don't want to see him as mayor but I would say that he is competent, unlike Adams, and his corruption was more standard NY corruption instead of this off the charts nonsense from Adams. If he is removed after some time in March then the public advocate is mayor for the rest of the year and while I have no problem with the guy personally I'm not convinced he can run the city.Yes.
